Personally, I think most of ILuna's models were wasted, especially on the girls. While on the other hand, Tempus' ugly ass models + rigging seemed to have worked out for them.

The dark purple one in niji is prickly. All of tempest is chinks. Chink males talk strange and all need therapy. The blue hair makes sadboy music aka unicorn songs. He keeps on giggling fakely and tells chat no bully no bully. Has height complex. Vesper is child like 35 yr old still whining and searching for enjoyable job.has age complex. Magni knows chat watches him and expresses dissprovement/inadequacy to our faces. The red one gets bullied by all of them since its what chinks do. ILUNA had waaay better designs, but only Ren and Scarle really stand out, the others are a bit too generic (I keep forgetting Aster exists).
TEMPUS has waaaaay better personalities and streamers, and they mesh really well, while ILUNA had really weird chemistry during their collab (granted, they were playing a puzzle game and people were being retarded).

The early stand outs from each group:
Regis Altare was the quick favorite for having the most normal and nice looking design, but has overrall become a bit of the forgotten one as the other 3 have become more popular for their personalities.
Kyo Kaneko had a cute design, but what sold him to people was the horrible disconnect between VOICE and MODEL, it was hilariously bad and gave him a jump start of interest, however, he didn't have the personality to really remain the most popular. Ren was also the other popular guy from the start from having the best design out of both groups, and has consistently remained popular, even if other vtuber aren't fond of him (none of the Tempus guys follow him, the ignored tweet incident, etc).

Overrall I think TEMPUS wins, they have a more dedicated fanbase that are truly enjoying how different they are from the Niji yaoi guys, they're brotubers.
I feel like only Ren, and maybe Scarle, will remain popular, and as the debut-phase starts to die out, people will return to watch the older Niji vtubers they're used to watching and the other 4 will struggle to remain relevant. Kyo might quit if he doesn't reach the popularity he is expecting, and Maria might gain popularity thru her music.

Would like to comment on their debut songs, but have to wait for TEMPUS to drop theirs.

I think the lesson that can be learned here is setting the correct expectations. The Homos were introduced with some exceptionally bad models/rigging, which led people to not expect much and go in saviorfagging mode right from the start. And then it turns out they're actually pretty decent, so people stayed.

On the other hand ILUNA debuted with some really good models but all the cringe Twitter activity led to some unrealistic expectations, the worst case being muh spicy latina GFE, and then when it turned out they were actually below average, people leave. I think only the SJW turbocunt set the correct expectations for her character from the start.

TEMPUS are all hard-working, professional guys that have good chemistry together. Their models have grown on me because they've taken the time to show how the characters connect to their personalities.

Plus Axel has a sexy singing voice, and two completely different speaking voices that are also sexy.

ILUNA has a guy who tweets like this, and it makes me want to die.

The chances of finding someone who is simultaneously interesting and good at singing etc. is pretty damn low. I think the general strategy for new gens at niji and holo are to try and balance the skillset across the group rather than trying to get individuals with everything, but it doesn't really work because the uninteresting ones just die off which affects the collab content as well.

All of HoloTempus actually eventually clicked with me, even Regis. They're true brotubers. Listening to Noir's Zatsudans and some of Magni's streams, I started to wonder why am I having more fun listening to these boys talk than listening to ANY of the girls in Hololive. I like Tempus a lot more than I thought I would, even though the streams are extremely short every one of them is entertaining and fun in their own ways.
Iluna though was a real disappointment. I admittedly haven't seen Ren, but beyond there being too many vtubers in NijiEN to keep track of as it is, a good amount of the wave are mostly playing the exact same games that prior Nijis already have, as if there wasn't enough APEX/Valorant/Genshin streams. Scarle is oddly entertaining as the quiet shy girl given the bimbo GAL model, and Kyo/Maria at least go off the beaten path somewhat in terms of game interests, but beyond that I don't really think I'll stick around. It just feels like Nijisanji EN is shifting towards a different audience, especially now that they went public.

noir and magni are carrying the gen, axel feels too much like a novice (understanble is you know his pl) and regni had an awful debut

iluna is a very mixed bag but i wouldnt call it a failure, the expectations were too high and everything went downhill at the debuts
kyo, maria and maybe ren were just ok while fake latina was big letdown and aia is both the best and worst member of the wave

the only people who won are the unityfags since all the newbies are very friendly to the other corpos talents
