Every pet I've owned in the past 15 years has been adopted from an acquaintance or family member who "couldn't take care of it anymore." These pets weren't like sick or dying or anything, the people were just moving, or getting into a new relationship and their partner didn't like dogs, or dumb shit like that. Two dogs and four cats in the past decade and a half. These are people I generally consider good people (or I wouldn't associate with them) but they just have this as I see it moral blind spot when it comes to animals.

A year and a half ago I finally had to pull the trigger and have a vet euthanize one of my dogs. I've had and lost pets my whole life, but this was the first time I, as an adult, had to be the one to make the decision and be responsible for the decision, and it broke me up in such a bad way I can't imagine how people can be callous about it.

I'm sorry, champ. The dog I brought in went from more or less healthy to hardly able to move in a 24 hour period, and I wasn't expecting it at all, so that's what was so rough about it. A complete shock. The vet said he had major fluid buildup around the heart, and they could drain it for $10,000, but couldn't promise it wouldn't just fill back up again immediately. He was already 13 years old, so even if I had it done he probably didn't have that many more years left, but I still felt guilty for a long time that I didn't give him those years.

The dog I still have is getting close to 15, and I'm kind of looking for signs that he might be suffering. He seems ok for now, but I know I'm probably getting close. He's mostly blind except for a little light sensitivity, but I've got the whole place arranged and bonk-proofed and he knows his way around very well, since he's been living in the same place most of his life. He's got diabetes and I have to give him two insulin shots a day, and at first he hated it, but I got better at giving the shots and he got better at accepting it, and now he hardly notices. pyon is just extremely small and extremely dedicated.
I don't know the veracity of the claim, but I read somewhere once that, when people judge the attractiveness of someone else, there is a lot of agreement on who the 7- and 8/10's are, but the only people who get 10/10's from some people are those who also get 6/10's from other people. There's kind of an agreed-upon standard for "pretty attractive" people, but the only way to be "extremely attractive" is to have unique quirks and characteristics that really set someone apart and trigger the specific tastes and desires of certain other people, and these unique quirks are seen by other people as a negative factor.

pyon is a group of people who all found kiki by chance, and who all stayed because she is our 10/10. The things that make her perfect to us are sometimes things that will make her disliked by others, but that's just how it is. It's hard to be a casual kiki fan. I don't think very many people just occasionally watch her between watching other vtubers. Hololive exists for those people. And nothing against those people or hololive, but they don't tend to stick around here, and the people who do stick around gravitate towards personality traits that make them very devoted rabs.

yeah, i grew up playing rune factory 3 on the ds and really liked the tsundere. i have been playing rune factory 5 and loving it so far, but if you dont like harvest moon with combat you might not like it. I'd watch a video or two of rune factory 3 or 4 or 5 and see if you like it, because theyre all the same except 5 is 3d.

my only experience with games similar is stardew valley really, I guess maybe animal crossing on GameCube if that's similar. if it's on par content wise (aka hours) with vanilla stardew I'll probably pick it up.

the core of the gameplay is talk to villagers help them out get married. there's farming that is helpful for making money or leveling skills for your stats, but eventually in all rf games it gets outclassed in terms of making money. it's still the best way to get quality ingredients for cooking for gifts though. the gameplay is heavily based on rpg stats, so if youre under level for an area prepare to get raped and if youre over leveled prepare to do the raping. i'm talking about hitting 0 damage and getting 1shot for being underleveled to 1shotting everything in your path basically if youre too strong. there is a focus on story and each character has some subplots that can only be done at certain times of day or after meeting some friendship requirements kind of like majoras mask if youve ever played that. it can sometimes be a little annoying if you don't know what time to do things at, but its not too hard to figure out and also there are guides online

I couldn't get into that game personally. it looked fun and I typically don't mind puzzle/strategy games but it never really got to the point I enjoyed it. FTL was kinda the same way but I had some fun with that, never got very far though.

Any time, I love it and it's perfect in short bursts. It's super cool as you unlock more and more units, and then put out custom squads by mixing and matching and just playing around for a good time.

Is it because they're also kind of rogue-lite games? Definitely a big difference between Into the Breach and something like a Final Fantasy Tactics/Disgaea where you have a very long term party building and leveling experience. I also really liked the (original) X-COM games too, which were kind of a mix between the two styles, with long-term research/base-building/gearing mechanics, but party members who could just die permanently in one shot sometimes.

I prefer seeing Champ and Kiki's artwork too. It's more organic, and pleasant when you can witness our artists grow or place objects in scenes in a specific way only pyon would understand. Skebs are great too, and I'm grateful for champs that purchase artwork.
