I'm convinced she was considering leaving as early as late January, but the Valentines Day stream with her getting a ton of love motivated and humbled her to at least push through to the end of her contract for the fans. From that point on, she did seem happier when she got back in the flow of streaming and made things more focussed on the sanalites/bread dogs. It would also explain why she didn't give an injury update, as if she did one back then it might have been a graduation announcement.

She's given mixed signals on her feelings, as she seemed both relieved/happy to leave and sad/unsatisfied to be giving it up. But I do get the feeling that leaving now has meant she left on a happier note than had she left suddenly in Febuary.

They do a performance review, they give her a chance to improve and stream more, she can't fulfil the obligation and they come to a mutual agreement. People and companies do this all the time. It's not a malicious act, it's just kind of accepting things for what they are.

That's just good business planning, but it doesn't change the incentive to keep them as long as possible.

The icing is what makes the business grow though, and in this case they didn't get a year of streaming; they got maybe half that sandwiched around 6 months of dead air. I suspect the 1 year contract is meant to act like a probationary period to discourage coasting for easy money/clout that comes with the brand.

I think Sana pulled in $60k this month alone purely off of graduation pity. Cover probably got $20k of that if not more.

Cover didnt fire her. Rusia was fired and they were very explicit that she was terminated. Sana quit because her responsibilities being an illustrator for arknights and a frankly mediocre rpg (lost epic) were increasing as well as being called in to do more prestigious gatcha work (FGO 5 year art and stuff). This happening as her streaming responsibilities (concerts, live events, etc) also went up. She couldn't manage both so she chose art since it is her strong suit. Other ENs tried to convince her to stay, but she got what se wanted out of hololive, friends and affirmation. Good or bad choice this is the most probable turn of events.

They dont have a fixed salary for their streamers and therefore dont care about numbers that much.
The only expenses they have is pre debut and if quota really was the reason there would be other streamers within hololive who would be gone already ( risu, bae, iofi e.g. also miko, who was really struggling hard to get subs at the beginning)
