The thread is of course a place to shill new singers, but shilling in the OP is not necessarily a good move. It would invite more negative impressions rather than positive ones, especially when the singer doesn't immediately impress. Not to mention that people who stumble upon the thread (in search of recommendations for singers), may actually be confused and think it's a singer endorsed by regulars. These aren't hard rules, but worth keeping in mind.

Posting about technical singing ability is moot anyway. Ultimately how good is their career is all about the quality of their original songs and how well they can sing them especially when that song is made for them.

Take Suisei for example, people in /vt says she has slightly above average ability but her song are bangers. The real embarrassing moment for the artist comes is if another singer covers their song and does it better than them.

The use of "objective" is cringe, but you actually just provided a basic idea of what we're doing here. It's not completely objective, but neither is it completely subjective (otherwise this thread wouldn't exist).
We can't credibly convince anyone that Salome (or <insert meh vtuber>) is a better singer than Whitney Houston. Just as we can't pinpoint who is the best (even then, at what genre / song, in what skill). What we can do is stating detailed observations to let others make their own judgments, and on certain singers there will be higher agreement than others that they are overall decent.

Pretty good, but after hearing Himitsu's and this cover, I'm sad it wasn't a remix contest and just a simple cover contest this time, since the song is like most modern music where it's so simple it's impossible to make it sound that different from the original. Compare that with things like these all from the same contest, and it's kind of disappointing how all the covers kind of blend together since there isn't even any particularly challenging parts, as the rap isn't super fast nor is the singing very hard. I guess it just taking singing instead of making something new makes the barrier of entry to doing it lower which means more entries, but still not worth the tradeoffs.
