The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

What cardinal sins of streaming should you train yourself out of before you start advertising yourself more? I did one stream for about 2 hours just as a trial run/tech test + reviewed the VOD and didn't see any major issues like long verbal pauses that would turn me off, but I'm not sure what else people really look for.

Just lean into it. I think the current corps are over saturated with young people at the moment. Anything that can differentiate you from the mass of applications is a good thing. I think it depends on where you live and the cost of living. If we're going on a 50% split of a $5 sub as the sole source of income then 400 subs will be around when you start getting to minimum wage levels in a lot of the first world. That's still a lot higher support than anything discussed in this thread. You could argue that's too much but otherwise you're just selecting for those that can support it as an expensive hobby.
