I wouldn't pull the lever and I would try to run ahead of the tram to save my family. Pulling it is murder.

Plus, if my family dies having a tied up Haachama isn't a bad consolation prize.

This is the most autistic thought experiment ever
Obviously you pull the lever, just watching five people get killt is way worse than making the train sacrifice one

>> No.2859534

wait for the other train to finish the job

>> No.2859561

The death of the five is still on your hands through your direct choice of inaction (this is assuming you’re in the state of mind to make the decision). Unless that one person has the definite ability to save more than 5 people, and will use it, your best bet it switching the lever

Most trolleys are used to have two sides, so for all that we know, the trolley might be moving in the opposite direction shown in this image, and the dude standing at the side of the railroad switch is looking back at the things and memories they've been a part of him for most of his life before entering the trolley and finally move on.

I agree with your conclusion, but it's an interesting thought experiment if the train is on the multi-person rail. If you pull the lever, there's a sense of you being directly responsible for someone's death. And there are different versions, like pushing a fat man in front of the train to save people, etc.

>> No.2866376

I don't care about anyone other than myself, so I don't do anything. If I pulled the lever then I would be directly responsible for a death, thus infringing on a person. If I didn't, people would die, but I'm not responsible for it.
