What is /asp/?

A thread for aspiring vtubers! Whether your goal is to make the journey as an independent streamer or to gain experience and build a portfolio for agency auditions. Let's help each other grow and make it. Indies are welcome to selfpost, but shill responsibly. Share your knowledge, insights, feedback, discuss what has worked and what hasn't worked for you. And always remember to do your research before posting personally identifying information. That includes both in this thread and in your audition applications to agencies.

Yes! Live2D models can be purchased off nizima.com (Live2D's official marketplace) or booth.pm (general Japanese indie artist website). Be sure to check compatibility with your facial tracking software!

The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

I've sent my Tsunderia audition. I'm very proud of it and the video. It turned out a lot better than previous audition videos I've done.

Fingers crossed, but I saw some chuubas with thousands of followers clearly express their interest so it will be tough.

Lately I've been feeling extra menhera because I keep fucking up when I try to interact with others. The paranoia and poor self awareness are really fucking with my brain. I wish I had the strenght to isolate myself and never talk to anyone again outside of my chat, but I always end up giving in and fucking up again.

If you like somebody's stuff I think its ok to compliment somebody, but if I see somebody gushing about how much they like somebodies stuff (especially if they are also a streamer) it starts to feel possibly manipulative to me even if it is genuine. I mean just you being there watching the person, following their account, and participating in chat is enough of an indication that you like their stuff. Especially bad is when somebody gushes about how much they like you but then never watch your stuff.

Granted I will admit that my social media history for the last 10+ years is almost exclusively 4chan and other anonymous boards, so I might be a bit less experienced with this kind of social interaction.

the only thing you really have to worry about on wifi is the consistency of your connection. your bitrate may fluctuate which isn't all that pretty to look at. don't need to worry so much about the strength although it helps being wired up for that too.

The connection seems to drop every once in awhile for a second or two. I'm using the wifi provided by my apartment complex so it's shared among many and kind of shitty. The bandwidth is fine but for whatever reason it drops every now and then.

No, you can remove / lower the frequency of an audio source and that would get rid of it (if you hit the exact frequency of the fan), but it would also shave off a lot of your voice depth because our voice is distributed rather broad over the spectrum. That's why noise gates are worse than preventing the noise in the first place, because you will always lose a little bit of your voice with post processing effects.

Best way is to position it away from the mic, change the fans to more silent ones or just live with the pain I suppose.

1) How do I fix video encoding overload on OBS?

2) Is there anyone that can help me properly set up a noise gate and limiter on OBS?

3) Is there anyone that can help me set up my ASMR mic on OBS? It's basically set up but when I speak into the left side it can still pick up on the right side.

The mic is somewhat far away from the PC, also the pc in question is a gaming laptop so fan noise is an issue in general. I did some undervolting to the gpu which keeps the fan noise down, but I guess always going to be louder than a normal PC.

Honestly, getting older helps in a lot of ways for vtubing. Just having more life experiences helps you to shoot the shit with chat and tell more interesting stories. There are bad things too of course. My advice is to work your way to whatever upgrades or stuff you want. Stream witn a PNG for a month, sure it might get less traction from some people, but youll at least figure out if its for you or not.
Or use vroid for a bit. Your "model debut and hype" can come later

I stream to my friends and have fun so I want to do it more seriously & to grow, but by nature I am a pretty introverted person.
