Why do vtubers STILL fake their voices? 99% of the time it's a fucking debuff, and everyone hates them/has to tolerate them. And everyone loves their real voices better when they get revealed whether accidentally or purposefully.
Same with the nasally voice everyone does to try to copy Veibar/Nyanners

That's more an issue of design dissonance. A chuba with an adorkable, fun and engaging personality can make up for not having an uwu voice, especially if their uwu voice doesn't sound appealing. Ultimately, it's all about whether or not she's the kind of anime girl you'd want to rawdog and mating press.

As a rule of thumb, if all you care about is looks and cute voice, then you'll just wake up one day after the novelty's worn off and realize you've just wasted your life fawning over a woman you don't even like or care for, don't get along well with, possibly can't stand, and who as a person makes you want to head out for that pack of smokes.

Almost all of them do something with their voice, but the only one whose fake voice annoys me is Kiara because it's so obviously fake. Well, I also have a bit of an issue with Elira's voice but it's more because it sounds like she's "on" rather than being laid back and natural. Like she's voice acting. Nips have the advantage of a more phonetically pleasing language. You can really hear the buff / debuff effect of phonetics when people switch between languages, and phonetics have a really strong impact on "tone".
