The NijiEN branch is heavily funded by chinese viewers and you know what the chinese think of cover. If it was just a matter of popularity then yeah NijiEN would rightly be interested in collabing just to possibly leech some of that popularity. But there is too much money at risk to upset the chinks.

Indisputable 100% proof? No. All we have is circumstantial evidence like NijiEN not allowing collabs with *any* Hololive branch while other Niji livers can collab with Hololive ID/JP talents no problem. And how Kiara had no problem sending Pomu a message for her birthday but Pomu wasn't allowed to show it. If Cover was the issue there I don't think they would let her send it in the first place.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying any of this shit as a tribalist. I watch Nijisanji and Hololive. This is just the explanation that makes the most sense to me based on what we are allowed to see.

Even if Nijisanji has released financial statements with executive comments on them (which I doubt since Japanese companies operate from April to April) there's no real way of discriminating how much of their subs or money comes from Chinese viewers when most Chinese people don't even speak English (1% are at a conversational level). If you're referring to their CN branch then you should know that Nijisanji had a Shangai and Taipei branch, then the Shangai got merged into Taipei and Taipei stopped operating in 2020 (that alone would be yab according to the Chinese anti narratives). They do own VirtuaReal as a joint venture with Bilibili but that could be a shared profits agreement and makes more sense than having a branch there. The benefits of joint ventures are quite literally not having to commit as much initial capital to it, safeguarding yourself from an eventual fallout and having a distinct brand image for that market; so Nijisanji is not as overly exposed to the Chinese market as people might think and stuff that happens in either company should affect the other. How much this grosses Anycolor would be outlined in a financial report but they have none up, I just checked their IR for JP.
