What is /asp/?

A thread for aspiring vtubers! Whether your goal is to make the journey as an independent streamer or to gain experience and build a portfolio for agency auditions. Let's help each other grow and make it. Indies are welcome to selfpost, but shill responsibly. Share your knowledge, insights, feedback, discuss what has worked and what hasn't worked for you. The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

I haven't applied to a smaller corp/agency, but I've been tempted. Here's my reasoning:

1 - Everyone wants to get into Holo/Niji. I'm nowhere near world-class. But I can maybe be good enough to get in at a smaller corp that less people apply to
2 - A smaller corp might allow me to keep my current model, which means I can keep my current friends and contacts.
3 - Larger companies have to worry a bit more about the law. As an indie, you can run the risk of DMCA strikes without too much fear, but if a Holo streams something they shouldn't, the wave of corporate shit that would flow downhill would drown you.

Visage doesn't moderate the discord at all, and doesn't moderate new users. We get people there who have no idea it started as a 4chan thing, as he shuts down discussion on that in case it spoils perception of the people there. We have users who are viewers, or under alt accounts, or who are just vtweeters.

It's at 260 members, it needs moderating. Even if just to remove Sigma, Ain, and Noonas "hey I wish I could stream as Hitler"

Seriously, actual literal cringing involves how we react to outside stimuli because of a self-anxious condition or personality, and in it's proper definition necessarily includes a reaction to something other than ourselves.

It's an understandable mistake, and not really a mistake, since 'cringe' has entered mainstream use and is obviously used in a much different way, that is, the derived meaning is valid, but, significantly different from what you are literally trying to describe.
It is simply an empathetic response to the anxiety of another, although in a typical anxious fashion, the slight, or anxiety of the other, can be imagined and not real. Vicarious embarrassment is actually the term coined and made a concept to specifically describe cringe in the way outlined here. That of empathetic embarassment or anxiety to someone who does not actually feel embarrassment (as empathy would usually imply), because the anxiety the other person feels in this manner is consciously a projection onto one's own self, or imagined onto the other person).
