It wasn't Cover "fantastic" marketing that make their talents and Hololive get big, it was the girls themselves that managed to get big with their own efforts, and you can just look at how tings went for Korone, from 3view to one of the biggest vtubers around, and she achieved that grinding hard by herself. Even the success of HoloEN can be traced for the success many HoloJP already had in the west, plus the little overlay certain fanbases, like Gura's has with others, meaning they came there for her and not really Hololive in general. Hololive is what made vtubing a popular thing in the west too, even before HoloEN, and all the western indies/corpos we have wouldn't be around or be as succesful they are now without Hololive kickstarting the trend in the west, that includes Vshojo and Ironmouse. Getting in the trend at the right time, getting lucky and going viral, putting effort and passion in the right way, etc, seem to be what applied to all the succesful vtubers.
