I get what he means, even if I wouldn't call it "depressing." It's not a secret most people spending a holiday weekend watching vtubers are lonely and coming together to pass the time with other lonely people, but sometimes the streamer's mask slips a bit and you can tell they're not any different in that regard.

Id say koragi is homely and relateable. I remember when i first clicked on her stream i got the vibes of universal appeal and comfort without it being manufactured or fake. I was honestly surprised she wasnt lig tier, cause i didnt check the numbers at first.

social skills are good for retention, not growth, which requires content to attract people in the first place. when i see new people come to a stream it's always because of what the streamer is doing rather than what they're saying, and then they stick around because the streamer keeps things engaging with talk. same goes for youtube content creation, there's gimmicky videos, niche content, etc that people get started with and if people actually enjoy the videos since they're well done and the person behind them presents themselves well, it gets shared around and growth will happen.
it'll never be solely because they can talk well without some sheer luck, but good choice of content will attract more people that are willing to give you a chance

I think we're saying the same thing but emphasizing different parts. I'm saying that focusing on your fundamental streaming/talking game is more important because gaining new viewers is useless if you can't retain them. You're saying that focusing on snagging viewer attention week by week is more important because you can't retain viewers who can't differentiate you in a sea of anime avatars. I think the latter is probably more important in your early stage, in that you want to build a unique brand. But just like real life products, at the high level, they're all basically different flavors of the same fundamental thing. In this case, it's cute anime people who are good at talking to a faceless crowd for hours.

Anhyway this part will be boring and not really telling of future results since MUCH of what makes the hair look amazing is locked behind texturing and vertex coloring, so it'll look flat colored and boring for the longest time. Also the back hair will be modelled to look pretty boring on top of that.

The squares in his hace are for Normal Transfering and they enable fast and easy anime normals, the rest of his body should also be covered in them, but I've yet to do that
