It wasn't until high school that everyone typing things out became common for me, but I had to type all my school work from grade 1-2 because my hand writing at any reasonable speed was so bad. I could never draw for shit either, but I'm still able to do precision work with my hands so it's not a dexterity thing. I'm sure there is some brain issue that can cause it beyond just no practice as well.
