I don't think it's anything new and I can't believe this really needs explaining. "I don't know if I'll be able to stream so I'm not gonna say anything before I know for sure" has always been the main logic behind her scheduling once actual schedules were out of the picture. She won't say she's not gonna stream because if she is gonna stream, she's gonna have to either cancel it because she already said she won't stream, or have people unprepared for it because she already said she won't stream and make people doubt her statements in the future. It's just easier to not say "I won't stream this week" and hope for the best. If you don't believe me, believe in the number of times she cancelled her stream reservations which is basically never outside of oversleeping and emergencies like collab partners not showing up. I'll be honest with you I prefer her not forcing herself to stream over what was happening in August 2020 or June 2021, or after Holocaust, or during pseudo-sleep apnea period. Her believing she has to grind to stay afloat has never led to anything good and has ruined more than it has built up. I'm happy she's at a point where she can just take her time and not worry about "betraying her fans" by not being in her booth every day because she doesn't trust anyone to like her if she doesn't push herself every single day.

Due to the timing of various issues, the latter one seems that it could be centered around Suisei not being told Coco was graduating. Pretty much everything about it is just supposition and writing fictional conclusions based on the few things that are fact (current facts being that Suisei appears to specifically ignore Kanata while Kanata occasionally mentions Suisei or her music, and Kanata has claimed they just drifted apart).

I think for the "spoiled" fanbases there's a bit of a worry that their oshi who streams regularly will end up going down the Aqua or Ayame route: a decline in streaming in favor of behind the scenes recording/rehearsals/what have you. That certainly seems to be the direction hololive is heading, with how many holos are burning themselves out or damaging their health with behind the scenes work and having to take long breaks to recover. Comparing someone like Kanatan to someone like Koyo who just got her 3D is dumb since she just has less offstream work to do and more time to stream.

Cover is just maintaining its status as an eternal dumpster fire, but its testament to the quality of vtuber groups in general that Cover has only lost a single employee to date by means of the employee's decision (and that case was one of the most extreme examples someone could think up). There's multiple girls on basically permanent leave right now (feel bad for manjigumi fans), but they still retain them as members.

Being a dumpster fire just means there is a constant struggle between different parts and pieces of the group and staff as a whole; there is a serious problem with the staff and internal communication and there has been for a long time. If there was any proper communication between event/promotion staff, talent managers, and the talents themselves, we'd never be getting cases where someone like Kanata is being pulled into an "emergency meeting" when she should be at home streaming (doing her primary, visible, job), which then resulted in her needing to tweet like >>27468953.
It's unfortunate, but this is just how Cover has always been and they really don't seem to improving on that part at all (other than starting to let talents go on health leave after the cases of Marine/Pekora/Suisei etc with their voices).

Cover is partially like that because they seem to think that their main strategy of "dealing with problems as they come" doesn't work anymore and hasn't worked for years. Thankfully in this case this SHOULD end right here with Kanata's tweet. Is it going to? Who the fuck knows. We only know that Cover fucked up when something goes so out of hand they have to take measures. Things that are behind the scenes, including the results of that meeting and Kanata's own feelings, well, we may never know so I don't even want to think about it.
