Anyone else do this? I heard that MGSV is pretty fun, but I'm waiting for Pomu to finish her MGS4 playthrough first so I can understand the story first.

I watch chuubas play multiplayer games, that I would never play, because I don't have friends.

This is roughly the mentality for people who watched letsplays so yeh. In some cases the game looks interesting but not entirely sure if worth the 60~ Or terrible at certain games but want to see what its got.

Why would I do this? What's the benefit?
When I'm watching a chuuba playing a game, it's one of the three following scenarios:
1) A game I already like and want to see them playing - Don't need to pretend
2) A game I don't give a shit about but I'm ok with watching - Don't want to discuss
3) A game where what they're doing in it is what's important, like Minecraft - No point in discussing without the chuuba context

I know plenty of people that do this and all of them, including (You) deserve the rope. Play your own video games.

>> No.27133304

I've seen people do that but it's generally pretty obvious that they haven't actually played the game. Simply because they underestimate how finicky the control are. If you see a streamer doing poorly in a game you haven't played, you assume the streamer sucks. If you see a streamer doing exceptionally well, you assume it's the average. In fact this is how I discovered my favourite game. I kept watching vtubers and streamers fucking up at a game and just thought "It can't be that hard". It really was and it took me over 200 hours to actually get really good at it.

this is how i've experienced most video games over the past decade

If it's a game I have no interest in playing maybe, like Minecraft or It Takes Two.

Did you know? Current generation actually play games much less than the 2 previous generations. They mostly experience games through videos rather than playing them themselves. This was completely mindblowing to learn.
