I honestly think it has to be genuine. If it's too forced/overbearing, it feels offputting.
And I don't mean it as "the good ones genuinely love me!!!!", just that you have to find your truth. You have to be open about yourself and be able to show that bit of vulnerability. It doesn't work if you're limited to being "Girlfriend: The Character". Or, rather, it does work, but if you want to be the best, that won't cut it.
Share your passions, if you like cooking, cooking streams are fantastic for that. If you don't, whatever, find something else. Or, hell, do cooking streams anyway. Trying to make something on stream while openly saying that you're not used to it or even enjoy it has its charm too.
Watchalongs are my personal favorites, they're the ones that feel the most like a date, not those forced "we're on a date" roleplays or whatever. Or at least I think they do, how the fuck would I know what a date is like.

I'm not into GFE but it's much harder for women to be so direct about GFE since men are much more cautious and demanding as well.
Your best bets would be not stick to "idol" rules and not collab with men, but also give kisses, (sparsely like at the end of the stream maybe) give encouragement that's realistic and not hammed in, be as normal as possible and stay away from fleshtubers and shit like that.

Do keep in mind that men want comfort and a sense of belonging above all, trying to be too clingy will backfire as guys know straight away you can't be a thousand people's gf at the same time.

She's Yozora Mel's mama, but unfortunately never got as much of a buff from that as most holo mamas who stream did. She's really sweet, yeah, and though she can be a bit too direct with the "boyfriend" stuff, there's enough levity that it never feels awkward from people just joining, it feels like everyone is having fun together.

A larger portion might think, 'oh if I had an encounter IRL and we dated we'll totally hit it off and get married 6 months later' but they know deep down that's a fantasy. This anon brings up a really good point. Chubbas who constantly shower chat in kisses/I love you's/ect make it feel much less special. You can be affectionate during stream without making the experience feel cheap by spamming things you know people want to hear.

Showing affection in general goes a long way. Good morning/night tweets, asking people how their day is going, sharing how your day is going, ect. The more you can do off stream to make people feel like you actually care about them, the better.

Your best bet is to completely ignore them, showing special attention to anyone wont end well. Try to not just make your viewers feel comfortable, give them the feeling that they give YOU comfort as well, that they being there and interacting with you makes you feel happy and safe, develop a dependance like that. People love the feeling of being useful and having a purpose, you can abuse that shit easily.

You need to be interactive with chat. Interaction with you > the current game you're playing. You'll need to eventually invest in some equipment for ASMR. The only men and only places you interact with them is your chat and you only interact with them outside of chat if it's a multi-player game like Crab Game, Fall Guys, Amongus, and so on. Men get jealous about Discord because they always want to get into your inner circle. Don't make it feel too exclusive, but maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to have that sort of competition among your viewers vying to get closer to you while you keep them at arms length. Of you're on YouTube then heart their comments and possibly on the rare occasion reply to someone.

I'm not into GFE, but I do watch one like Nene Amano. Go ahead and check out a few of her streams. Look at her gaming, just chatting, general creative, and ASMR to get a feel to appeal to GFE.

The best advice I can give you to mitigate shit is that people are okay with being lied to. People are not okay with being deceived. There is a crucial difference that a lot of smaller vtubers don't understand when trying to damage control their yabs.
The best thing against people tearing you down is a fanbase that will defend you. Five antis with no one standing on your side hurts a lot more than a hundred antis with hundreds of people arguing back. Fans will always try to give their streamer the benefit of the doubt, antis will do the opposite. Give them plausible cause to defend you by not building your stream personality on a foundation of sand. Exaggerated traits can be explained away; diametrically opposed ones cannot.

Doing GFE is an art, not something you can do on the start suddenly (even if you're faking it for supas).
The key is to find yourself comfortable with your audience, being assertive, sweet and having a lovey-dovey character from the start, and with time as you develop a closer
relationship with your audience transition to this character to a facsimile of real live, a somehow dependant relationship in which you assure them they're the closest you have to a BF.
All of this means you have to be prepared for things like:
-Long zatsudans telling them about some aspects of your life (they don't need to be super private but they do have to feel like you're giving them a peek into your life)
-Making secondary twitter accounts (probably something locked to outsider) or member streams in which you confide them your mental or physical problems
(that's why some menheras make good GFEs, their issues activate the gachikois saviofag sensors and being menheras mean they naturally tend to vent their problem since they don't have many other people to do it)
- Long superchat reading streams in which you personally to most superchats, or at least the big ones. You want a lot of fan interaction, maybe try multiplayer games with fans too.
- There's these date streams that aren't really dates, just zatsudans or playing with games with a bit of roleplay (like going to the arcade or to dinner in a restaurant).
You can have too more involved roleplay audios, Baelz did a great one past Valentine's, but you have to be really good at them
- ASMRs aren't necessary but most GFE chuubas use them because if they're done well is like the most intimate feeling for viewers you could get considering this just streaming on a screen. How is it for the chuubas i can't tell though some of them like Okayu seem to really get into it too.
You don't have to do them in the most erotic things like the cat, they can be run of the mill standard ASMR; but you do have to learn how to do it.
I consume them from time to time and i'm not exagerating to tell you they're a craft you have to learn and is easy to distinguish between shit ASMR (which no one wants to listen to) and premium ASMR.

You have a cute voice so I'll tell you the big secret. You have to be very careful with this or it won't work. In most streams you should be spreading attention with chat as evenly as you can. Of course, pick the chats you like and skip the really bad ones. Creepy guys should get crumbs in comparison to everyone else, this is a subtle way to discourage bad behavior, if they don't stop feel free to ban.

Everyone should feel like they are getting an equal share of attention. Once in a while you secretly pick someone and focus on them for a day. Don't respond to every single message from them that day, and don't respond more cutely to him all day, that will make it too obvious. Respond to him more often today with the same usual tone, most days it's maybe 50/50 for everyone to get their message read. You want everyone but that chatter to feel like it's just any other day, you're spreading attention evenly. But to that one guy, his dynamic with you is subtly different today. He might think you're starting to like him more than others.

Then somewhere in the middle or 3/4 of the way into the stream, that guy will chat something genuinely good and at that point, you give him a really good reaction, maybe an honest laugh where you have to catch your breath, or maybe don't read the guy's message but start to laugh, try to hide your laughter, and then read someone else's chat and laugh at that one instead so it appears you're laughing for someone else. In fact you can probably focus on two chatters at once this way because you will be hinting to multiple people that you're preferring them.

You might need acting lessons for this or maybe I'm just likeable, but when this happens it makes me think that I won't be able to live unless I secretly arrange a way to bump into them so that I can shoot my shot. Most of the time I'm sure I don't need someone next to me but when my kamioshi makes me feel special, I die a little inside because I don't have a good enough to shoot my shot. Then I go work on myself and tell myself there will be some other cutie next year that I need to work for because I'm too late for this one. Welcome to an average guy's life. If I had just magically morbed into a boss last year, I would be confident enough to take my shot here, but since I didn't, I probably have to pass again. This probably isn't healthy. But it's healthy when she's online and I really don't care if I'm becoming a bit unstable, because I've already become more serious about getting better so thank you for choosing to go the GFE route. The most genuinely beuatiful thing you can do and must do for real GFE is to do what makes your viewers feel "safe", emotionally. The reason it's so appealing for so many guys and the reason those guys all care about boyfriend shit is because the secret is that as long as "the audience" is the only "guy" in your life, and they are part of the audience, the rest of the audience doesn't matter. Nobody who watches GFE actually remembers that you're speaking to a thousand people or whatever at once. If you are faithful to "the audience", you are faithful to the viewer themselves. I will say that favoritism is something you want to avoid though, because that can break that perception. This doesn't mean "never interact with a fan individually", but it does mean that if you do do that kind of stuff, you want it to be a regularish thing with no bias. Learn things from your regulars so they feel more at home and new people will start interacting more often so you remember them as well, Nene for example remembers a lot of her regulars by name and is now asking them their birthdays so she can wish a happy birthday wihtout them needing to ask.
