Oh yea, should mention that for artificial creation, we would need at least 500 years at the current pace, and as for natural birth, it's completely random. San, Sana's other half, as well as her big brother (don't ask) descend on this mortal plain every once in a while, and after minbreaking 24 hours of breeding (at least by Starmother accounts) a Starchild is created. And since they are always made with a specific purpose in mind, there can be centuries between them. Hell, we might not ever get a naturalborn, since curiously, all Starmothers have pink hair (which is one of the natural colours for us), and all our pink haired female Sanallites have perished since we crashed here, sadly.

Nah, they just don't know. Our expected date of return is some decades into the future, hell, it took almost 20 years just to get here! And we are far outside the reach of any even half stable communications, we basically went dark. Such is the life when you are on the frontier!

And if Cass ever decides that she does in fact want to create an artificial one, she has all the tools for that. Well, the genetic ones at least. Those seem to have thankfully survived. The problem comes with the mechanical parts, and as I said, those are at least 500 years into the future, if not more.
But to save us all a headache, she won't attempt that, as by that point we will both be a stable country here (hopefully) and had our meeting with the search vessel, which would have probably gone well. Hell, Vitubia might even get official recognition and be entered into the galactic federation we lead, depending on it's development level, so a return to space isn't really necessary. Oh, and a more pressing problem she has to consider might be the event DRT-3205 where an Artificial somehow woke up and...well, let's just say that we still deeply regret the loss of that planet. They had the most amazing chocolate.

hmm a rough idea for the overall flow of the story could be for Cass to just lead him aroudn for her own amusment and 9141 following what she says, but as Cass starts to run out of ideas and 9141 starts to get a bit sad he still has not foudn space, Cass realizes she actually kidna like sthe fellow and wants him give his wish but does not know how since she knows they cannot actually go to space only for 9141 to bring up the holo chamber he learned of at the start and Cass giving him a grand showing of all kidn fo space stuff in there, 9141 is happy and wants to share his findigns with the rest of Onobots. Cass is sad he wants to leave but also happy he found what he wanted and they say their heartfelt goodbyes

/warkop/ lore:
/warkop/ is a fairly new nation, established on the ruins of /nijiid/. It is inhabited by Nusantaran speakers, scaterred around the worlds but united in one nation. /warkop/ is currently maintained by a retainer loyal to Mythia Batford, a half-vampire princess, but other than that, it has no definite ruler. The nation is unexpectedly peaceful, possibly due to Nusantaran shamans praying for protections from evil and madness.

>It esentially enables FTL travel, by grabbing the space in front of the station and extending it (like you would a rubber band)
wow, just like in star trek. i think i was the one who suggested that to sanalites some time ago, actually. also, the artificial, enslaved starchild reminds me of the necrons as well as the emperor. if your's is dead, and cannot be reanimated, it isn't overpowered yet, and if /asp/ can let people achieve godhood, then a scientifically advanced society that exists in a universe with the same kind of magic could definitely use godhood as a sort of technology by manipulating how the magic quanta/conceptual realm works.
with that said, space and time are not two separate things. if you can "grab space in front of you" then you'd essentially be grabbing time, as well. in star trek, they curved space in front and behind them so that they could cause an inert body, as much as that can be said in space with no reference point, to naturally "fall" towards a direction despite technically never building any of it's own momentum. basically, it's creating an artificial gravity well in one direction that allows it to build momentum through "falling" through space. if you accept this as the interpretation, having something like that could allow for time-fuckery, which tends to be more complex than it's worth, not that it can't be solved theoretically with ease, just from a story writing and world building standpoint.
if i were to try to combine this with existing lore, i would imagine these artificial demigods as manifestations of a chuuba through the chuubanite itself, which is not the same as the chuuba being /here/. basically, they're very advanced golems that effectively represent their related chuuba through powerful transubstantiation. /meat/ does this on a small scale with their priests, but they are obviously more rudimentary, and thus can't really compare in any way. any system could have them, but currently sanalites are the only ones advanced enough to to make proper use of them, let alone to make their own.
tell me how you think of it, and if you have any suggestions or requests, this is obviously a new concept i am working with, so there are bound to be areas i am not considering, or that i am doing a disservice to your vision on. anyone else who has any feedback and is interested in chuubanite discussions inb4 "hur dur magic is everything" feel free to give your ideas or complaints.

Agreed, that's a goal for other chapters. I just didn't feel like it was necessary since the little story told was basically in some room in the Town Hall. Didn't feel like it added to the story in that part at least, especially considering Caudex would have been overly familiar with Aquileia and the town hall to the point he would have likely missed it. Glad you like Caudex, he is the type of ancient historian I love, like Herodotus, who just tells what he has been told and leaves it up to the reader to believe it or not. Pomerlane, i hope this was illustrated, is extremely perceptive of other people and loves to read such histories because it helps him understand current problems better.

Diana logs ch 6.

It is finally time for us to begin departing from /meat/. Over the past few months I think it is safe to say that a lot has changed in both myself and the entire crew when it comes to perspective. The meatheads actually want to help us out and they have done so tremendously.
I believe one of the earliest accounts of risuner ship training was when one of our pinisi was sunk due to a storm and they trained the crew. Not really sure what they had to do in exchange but they did make it back home safely so I assumed their intentions were good. I have to go home and not only provide the witches with what could potentially be a variety of new gem powers but also spread the word about meatheads being friends to anyone left that still has bad feelings about them

These guys have done all that we could think of. They provided us with a lovely inn, gave us guides, showed us around all the places we wanted to see, and even were cool enough to give us food that is apparently quite nice for them. Heck it wasn't what we were used to but still tasty.
Even now a lot of my crew have baskets full of merch from here including nuts and little trinkets. I never even got to ask Tecpashochitl or Itstemocthe cost of us staying. It was probably a lot now that I think about it. I actually feel a little bad about my previous mindset. Well it was understandable at the time so not really.

About their boats. I can't stop but think about that insane shipyard. Their devices to build boats is crazy. They can build so much more and probably so much faster. Their technology is ahead of ours but then again it has been made apparent that we are behind the entire world when it comes to technology. A lot of their boats actually looked kind of similar to our pinisi now that I think about it.
Well it's not really a surprise. If I am remembering correctly, the pinisi was built using meat design with a few changes. There was even that captain that had traditional risuner weaponry who I personally thought was pretty cool.

My mind is going all over the place. It feels like we have not been there long even though it has been quite some time. However as I begin to depart I gracefully said thank you to all our new friends, even the gem merchant I had sex with. Vitkine was my first woman to exchange nuts with me. It was a bit....odd but it felt good. Probably would stick to men in the future but in the end she seemed to love it and I got my pretty gems so it all works out.

As I am writing this we are all loading the last of the cargo and preparing to go home. Of course we had a deadline and the last thing we need is to have the risuners back home to think we are lost and declare war on /meat/. It wouldn't really end well seeing how fucking good they are at killing. But we have time and should be home soon. With our ships now full of food for the journey back home I waved goodbye. Now all I have to do is wait to get home.

Goodbye /meat/.

So I have a question about /nasa/'s omnipotent and all knowing AI: Why did Cassandra go with the Principal's order to lock down the station? Why did the AI not revoke the Principal's permissions and lock him out of the system? Why did Cass not alert the military with a red flag order to overthrow the Principal when he issued the lock down? I understand I will have to wait until 2 AM for this answer. I have to ask now.

Thought about what to do with gravity tech and the starchild. This is just a few ideas. The starchild is like a bio-android. Bio-androids come from Outlaw Star. They're pretty much artificially constructed humans who's cell structure can interact with machines. The god emperor of man has "psychic powers". The starchild would not have psychic power. I want to say starchildren come from a line of special evolved human who have the brains and the body to interact with machines as a central unit. Their bodies can conduct the energy necessary to create a gravity well used for a warp jump. Starchildren are completely unaware of everything outside of themselves because their brains are engineered to only process information and energy for warp jumps. Any new memories within the starchild will disrupt the calculations with catastrophic results. This is why starchildren only communicate with the AI. The reason Sanalites are unaware of the starchild's existence is becaused AI algorithms are the supreme authority of /nasa/. The AI is the captain of the starship. It is the end all be all of authority. If the AI deems you a dangerous person it will send a red flag to the Principal who then signs a warrant for your arrest. The AI is not infallable. It is engineered by humans which means there's sometimes bugs in the system.

The AIs have decided to support S.T.A.B.L.E because what the S.T.A.B.L.E party does is restrict unpredictable human behavior. AIs hate unpredictability. If the AI can encourage via algorithms to promote S.T.A.B.L.E ideology then it will succeed in domesticating humans to become predictable NPCs. /nasa/ rejects this idea. Cassandra most likely is an old-fashioned ancient AI created during the pioneer days of space fairing. Perhaps Cassandra understands human unpredictability is how the species survives. Perhaps Cassandra doesn't have as many tweaks by the homeworld's AI that favor human domestication. Maybe Cassandra went with the lock down to test the Sanalites on how they will react to life without her in the station. Alternatively Cassandra needed the lock down to reroute all power to her internal machines in order to "save" the starchild.

This might be a retarded idea. I thought about what if the starchild is still "alive" but paralyzed? The starchild is a paraplegic that lost its ability to use half of its body which makes it worthless for the warp drive. However a living starchild is better than a dead starchild. If the starchild is a girl then perhaps some nerve implants can restore enough function of her lower body for her to procreate a clone. Her life inside the pod is over. But maybe she could have a life outside. If Cassandra does this then she will become a rogue AI. Again saving the starchild by having her join /nasa/ as a civilian is probably a stupid idea. However I really do like scenarios that make interesting stories when it happens.

As for the starchild outside the pod she has no powers. At best she can communicate with machines by touching their glass or graphine control panels via universal circuit. She'd be a frail girl in a wheelchair under constant medical care. And despite Sanalites being rough and tussle Aussies they will welcome her as part of their family and will kill anyone that dares to harm her. Especially if the starchild can intercept direct broadcasts from Sana.

No anchor. These are just ideas I need to get approved by the other Sanalites. I smell an opportunity for a great story.

Many of the boys' societies will contain supernatural elements. Several times now, you've stated your reluctance to include magic in your own writing. We can make use of this. How would you feel about something like
>Obsydia's invasion causes the Badlands to form
>periodic attempts are made to reclaim it, but schizos are too numerous
>Empire basically gives the land up as lost, though they nominally still own it
>time passes (decades? centuries? this will probably depend on how the rest of the timeline shakes out)
>the first of the Kindred, fleeing from a near extinction event in their original homeland, arrive on the northern shores of Ninisani
>oops all schizos
>fighting breaks out between Kindred and schizos
>Lucubs were already here and living in the badlands. Fairly primitive at this point, they were mostly ignored as savages by the Empire
>Yaminions also here. Fairly small community living on the southern edge of /2434/ at this point. The formation of the Badlands has been troublesome for them since now they have outlaws and schizos mucking about at their outskirts
>ally with Kindred
>desperation and the advantage of unfamiliar weapons/tactics allow them to drive some of the schizos back, carving out a small chunk of territory
>they claim the land for themselves
>Empire is pissed about outsiders taking their land, muster forces to retaliate
>normally they’d win pretty handily, but having to cross the Badlands weakens land-based forces significantly
>furthermore chuubanite magic is weird and unfamiliar to most of Ninisani at this point
>Kindred still pretty severely outclassed in terms of sheer scale, but they won’t back down because they have literally nothing to lose, they were already threatened with extinction anyways
>Boys’ alliance slowly pushed back but they put up a fight. War drags on
>Quilldren and Mystakes arrive
>suddenly the boys’ alliance gains tons of bodies to throw at the problem and tactics noticeably improve
>both sides lose a lot of people as the boys continue to push into the Badlands
>it’s a net loss for everyone at this point and the schizos are still knocking at the doors
>Empire reluctantly considers maybe Badlands aren’t really worth continuing to lose lives over
>treaty grudgingly signed by both sides
>Luxiem's kingdoms formally recognized as part of the empire

In-universe they'll probably need to consolidate further into the future of Vitubia especially since, as you said their land is really small for the amount of people living in it, but with the state of the world as it is now they'll probably remain small fractured kingdoms until something forces them to change.

Just read through both Secret Histories. Before getting into characterization, let me just say that when someone new starts speaking, that should get its own linebreak. In the prologue, you frequently have Pomerlane and Caudex both speaking in the same paragraph, which makes for somewhat confusing reading and interrupts the flow.
Getting into the actual writing itself, your narrators have good voices. Caudex and the scout are very distinct from one another, you can tell even from such short pieces what sorts of men they are. The problem mainly seems to be in illustrating the personalities of non-viewpoint characters. Pomerlane still feels a bit like a "press during battle to dispense victory" button. Some of this is because your dialogue is stiff, but the nature of the conversation means some stiffness is expected. The real issue is that you are telling rather than showing. This works well for action-oriented scenes like battles, but feels bland for more slow-paced scenes like these. I would recommend supplementing long pieces of dialogue, such as Pomerlane's paragraph-long monologue about reading Caudex's work, by splitting it up with breaks for body language.
>"You are correct in stating I could and I would find such men in other places, but I value a man of humility in his own works over the prideful boasting that these men most certainly have." after pausing to take a drink, he said,
You had the right idea with this bit. More of this kind of stuff, with a little more emphasis on the gestures taken. For example, I might have phrased that portion as
>"You are correct in stating I could and I would find such men in other places, but I value a man of humility in his own works over the prideful boasting that these men most certainly have." Here Pomerlane paused to take a long drink from his cup.
What follows next would depend on the kind of personality you are attempting to illustrate. Do you want to show Pomerlane as an aggressive, powerful man who is perhaps a bit careless with his strength? Then perhaps the next line would be
>As he finishes, he slams the cup to the table, shaking it with the force of the blow. He then said,
Or perhaps the goal is to shine a light on the contrast between the violent legends surrounding him and the reality of him as a clever, deeply thoughtful man. In that case, perhaps the next line would instead be,
>After a moment, he sets the cup back on the table with surprising care. He then said,

Everything I said about the starchild, throw it out the window. I still want to try to save the starchild inside of the ship. I do think it can be still alive. I was trying to put my own spin on the concept that I caused another timeloop. The idea is suppose to be that time/space distortion is done through the starchild's body because they're like an organic warp drive. That's how we create gravity wells to warp through space. Only a god can handle that much energy within their organic body. In the end if my idea is stupid then it needs to be rejected.

Its the same with me not writing /nasa/'s government before the civil war. All I do is overcomplicate things with unecessary details. That's not how you make lore. Its how you make shit. If I am not fit to write lore then get it off your chest. I thought I had encouragement when an anon said he could still follow lore. But its not streamlined enough for the other Sanalites to follow. I need to either stop writing lore or be tard wrangled with a strict editor brave enough to say "no".

I'm trying real hard to justify the lock downs. Maybe I shouldn't. Locking everybody out of the station is just a mistake. And the Principal needs to be held accountable. Which means he needs to resign so a new Principal, Jonathan, can take over. Then Sanalites can vote in their new council next year to change the law. This is how the civil war arc should end.

With the AI, Cassandra logically would have never let the principal initiate the station lock down. Which means the civil war arc should have logically never happened. But the AI did allow the lock down. The question becomes why does the AI need a lockdown? There has to be something wrong inside the ship that the AI needs full power to resolve. The AI is also a councilor to the principal. AI should provides a list of suggestions based on the context of the situation. And lock down was one of these suggestions. If the warp drive is a bio-android "demigod" that's barely alive then that is a very good reason for Cass to lock down the station. This was my thinking for the story.

Look up Melfina from Outlaw Star if you want to know what a bio-android acts like.

Cassandra saw an opportinity for both. Lock down is necessary to self-repair the station's warp drive. And Sanalites needed to be kicked outside for the summer to cure cabin fever. An AI can never lie to its operators. But that does not mean an AI cannot with hold information if it does not deem it relevant to the inquiry.

On one hand the pieces of the story is falling into place. On the other hand my vision is clashing with the vision of the other Sanalite. As for the starchild warp drive I do have an idea on how she can call for help. But I will no longer comment on starchildren.

>If we do have a reality bending warp drive then it has to be nerfed
If you let the starchild be dead and a black box that no one on the station knows about then I don't see any problem with that technology existing since there's no way for it to be replicated or misused. Perhaps Cass allowed the lockdown in a last-ditch effort to try and save her but ultimately failed. Or maybe it was just a bug as stated here >>26707295 Honestly, if you're that concerned about your lore writing then I don't think you need to quit, but maybe take a step back and work on smaller scale character-driven stories for a bit. honestly this, i feel you are so stuck in trying to "fix problems" you introduce that then need to have everything before it to fit it perfectly or otherwise those need to be changed wich then introduces the next problem and yada yada timeloop. instead of moving forward and actually have sanalites living on vitubia.

needing to come up with crippled demigod girls to "nerf" reality bending warpdrives that they now need to have because the homeplanet now is X instead of Y away or because otherwise their omnipotent AI would not agree to the Principal initiating the lockdown does not sound like coherent writing but harry potter level BS "And also Dumbledore is gay the whole time"

i am all against discouraging someone from writing their stuff but maybe when the sanalite several times says he want to scrap the stuff he actually is right and we should not soft force him to continue by saying "noo its fine do it" wich results in several metldowns all the time and sanalites enforcing lorebanning themselves ect.

/nasa/ Principal's log

I have officially restored all functions to Lammington Station. After the council hearing the judge has made a decision: I am found guilty of disrupting the lives of Sanalites, destroying the spring harvest, and immediate damages to manufacturing. As of today I am no longer a citizen. I turn in my firearms and my badge. I will lose my retirement pension as the money is seized to pay damages. I am not going to prison. However as of today I voluntarily resign as Principal of /nasa/. Security General Jonathan has been appointed by council to take my place. He will be overseeing /nasa/'s executive decisions from here on out. As for me, I'm going to leave /nasa/. I have no money, no guns, and no privileges. I only have permissions of a child on the network now. It breaks my heart having to leave. It is my grand mistake. And I have to take accountability. I just pray that Jonathan heeds my compromises well with the Grand Directive.

This is the final log of Principal Alexander Jason Steele.

Because even the Rocket you posted is early 1800s tech. The average technology level is 1750s so unless your lore has established to have the relevant developmental level and reasons you are 'ahead' so to speak no one is supposed to have steam. The steam debate in the early threads of /vtwbg/ was mostly centered on the implication of steam engines on trains and ships. If one has the capability to power most of their ships with steam then it makes sense as well that they would have decently widespread use of steam.

Fisherman 3

"Well I'll be damned by lady death! Squirrels!" The shocked fisherman audably reacts to the newcomers to the port. A rare clear day in the port, even if it is not too sunny.
From the back the fisherman's coworker shouts "Ey what's the matter man, hurry up and get the cargo down"
"Shut up you fuckhead and come check this out"
The man in the back stumbles over to see just what exactly was so important.
"Oh what the fuck, squirrels, looks like the officials are on their shit too"
The fisherman ponders "Maybe they don't have papers"
"Come on, there's a limit to ignorance don't you think"
"Well you never know, look, a fucking deadbeat is having to sort it out!"
"Oh... Maybe they are that ignorant..."
"Yeah, anyways, let's get the cargo out, I'm itching for a coffee cup"
"Ya think they just arrived!?"
"From the looks of it, looks like they've got here a few days ago, look at that strange ship, they go in and out easily"
"Those squirrels that were getting harrased by the official must've done something for it then"
"Probably"

-----

As the fisherman and his coworker finally finish dropping their cargo, a few of those Squirrels start walking the port. They looked to be trapped by a few other sailors petting their tails, while not a man that looks for new experiences it does give him enough curiosity to advance towards the squirrels. In his path he finds a group of squirrels that have been talking to each other.
"Uh, good morning?"
...
No response, it seems they don't speak the language. Maybe in central they'll understand
"-Hello?-"
...
Nada, they don't speak it, no papers and they can't speak, are they abandoned inmigrants or something? Who are these people anyways?
"Well, that's odd, still, listen to me clearly! I'm going to touch your tail!"
The fisherman slowly extends his hand towards the tail of one of the risuners while mantaining eye contact, it'd be bad if they got scared wouldn't it?
The risuners talk to themselves a bit, they decide to shove the tails right into the fisherman's body
"Alright alright let's calm down a bit you rowdy bunch" The fisherman raises a single finger. "One by one" They seem to understand that.
The tails were fluffy, pretty neat. Very clean, they seem to be groomed heavily by the squirrel people. The first tail belonged to the a young man that looked a little nervous. The other risuners seem to have mocking smiles on their faces, so they were probably teasing him. Once the fisherman was done the risuner proceeded to shake his tail in front of the fisherman. Certainly puzzling, whatever that meant in their language, maybe thanks? Still, the young man looks a bit disappointed when the fisherman doesn't recognize what shaking the tail means.
The next tail belonged to that of a young woman, in comparison to the previous squirrel person she seemed very calm and confident, proud of her tail even, very well groomed soft hair on it.
"Ope, what's this?" A peanut"
The proud young lady's face turns red in less than a moment. The other risuners laughing about it too. The hair in her tail stiffens up a bit in response, was it a snack she was hiding? Maybe she was just a bit careless when eating. The lady stays quiet and embarrased until the man was done petting the tail. She proceeds to shake her tail in front of the fisherman.
"Uh, thanks to you too" The fisherman says. The young lady also looking disappointed when he said that.
"Oh, I know what might make you fellers happy!" The fisherman quickly takes out from his pocket what was supposedly going to be his lunch, some canned sardines and bread.
The squirrels don't look particularly into it, probably the smell is pushing them away, Still, the 2 squirrel persons that got their tails petted grabbed sardines, the young man made a strange face, the young woman seemed delighted with the taste. Must not be for everyone.

On the coffee shop "Étrange" Where the shop owner was reading a local newspaper on table 3
"What's the matter boss, something got you down?"
"Reads this part and you will understand"
"Oh, let's see here, Risuner stabbed in incident with coffee shop owner... Oh man you got yourself on some shit! The hell happened?"
"Some fucking squirrel boy tried to set my shop on fires, I just gave some ol' 1-2 from back home into torso"
"Oh wow, officials must've been plaguing you"
"Surprisingly not, they keep things quiet just in case"
"And yet, it's still on the news"
"Well, informations want to spread"

Maybe a small story of a risuner having to escape from a crazed hunter and his dogs would be fun.
"Sic 'em boys!".
Well, that or just risuners cuddling with a bunch of pet foxhounds from a particularly nice old man. Lots of options sure are daunting.

It was just a couple of schizos shitting up the thread. New anons are fine generally. Even if we are not doing it for the new anons it's something that honestly should've been done a long while ago.

What would a Vitubia introduction entail, exactly?

>> No.26731359

>>26731144
Basic history of how we ended up in Vitubia, a intro on the disintegration of /hlgg/ empire, weakening, and how the NIji empire became disconnected and turned into warring states. Also on the technological level and very short description on chuubanite. Know some anons have a problem with it, but like the 'Grimdarkness of the 41st Millenium' blurb from 40k
