Something I've noticed is that as anime gets more popular in the West, there's this weird swathe of anime and Japanese game/media fans that seem to absolutely hate the language and a lot of aspect of Japanese culture.
The "dub never sub" and obsessed with English covers kinda people, who also praise every translation they see while knowing nothing about the language.
