Subs are not the same as core audience and core audience factors way more than subs when it comes to gauging long-term popularity.

If Salome is still getting anywhere near 50k ccv in a year then there will be an argument for a new top chuuba. But it’s not going to happen. She will be lucky to maintain Pekora or Marine numbers in twelve months.

Also regarding subs, the en and jp audiences have a cap on how many people are actually interested in both areas and Gura is lucky to have caught the interest of both communities. I don’t think any JP vtuber will ever be able to pass Gura unless they can also capture the EN audience and that’s probably not happening since now EN has their own dedicated chuubas to watch.
