Why does Hololive sell so little merch? There's only a few tshirts and keychains on booth and geekjack, and they don't add new stuff or rotate stock for months on end. They could be making so much money

Why would they sell a product when their customer is going to throw money at them for free anyway?

Because it's relatively new to do any more than JP-exclusive offline products. You did buy their figures though right?
Not the plastic stands but the scales.

SO MUCH MONEY

it's cause you're a filthy gaijin
you have no idea the sheer amount of throwaway merch that every media series, including hololive, gets. They can't possibly advertise all of it.

>> No.2645445

I live in Japan and they seriously have nothing in stores rn besides trading card accessories. You'd have better luck going to Melonbooks/Toranoana/Booth and buying doujin merch. Official merch is still very sporadic.

>> No.2645600

ah, so it's mostly exclusive/limited time stuff? makes sense how I can't find any then because I don't know where to look, besides the twitter like the other anon said

yeah, i remember subaru talking about designing a plush to sell. seems like a lot of it is left up to the chuuba/management discretion, which could explain why there's so little since the chuubas aren't business-minded themselves (and why a lot of the t-shirt designs are terrible). probably only the voice packs are issued by cover

hen you got some stores have different bonus goods than other stores. The whole japanese shopping experience requires insane amounts of autism to navigate. Just stick to booth and geekjack bro, for the sake of your own sanity

Because a lot of people don't like the notion of just throwing money to the ether, but are perfectly willing (and maybe excited) to give money for merchandizing or tickets.
A person that buys a T-shirt for 20$ isn't necessarily willing to give 20$ for a superchat.

So it seems the chuuba need to fucking pay for the production costs themselves? If that is true then you might have your answer right there.

1000% I remember ordering some of that Hololive card game and it was a mission to try and find some where that ships to the west and shipping was like $20 on a $20 order

How come I can order shit on Amazon from China with free shipping but shipping for holo merch costs an arm and a leg

Doesn't help that the official stuff is mostly made to order so seeing them in stores will be near impossible. If there were any, they'll definitely go for extreme scalper prices.

Luckily we're starting to get some traction with the figures and figma but still a long way to go before we see a bunch of Holo merch on shelves.
