Couple reasons. First being that no one here really cares about Momo or any of those other chuubas. Second, and the big reason that this particular instance has spawned so much discussion, is that Layna got a mute. Regardless of whether she sees it as "just a friendship", that's not the reputation that the mute/talker dynamic has. Those types of relationships are reserved for only the most entrenched VRChat players. Only the degenerates of the degenerates had the balls to try and own a person like a pet, to have them dance around and do tricks to entertain another person's audience, despite the argued mutual benefits that both parties enjoyed. And some of those people get way too fuckin' attached to those relationships.

Roflgator had a "mute shuffle" event recently where unhappy mutes could publicly air their grievances with their talkers and choose to break the relationship. This one motherfucker XconSniper started crying because his mute Vrey broke up with him. I was in the mute's stream a few times and every day without fail this guy would join his mute's instance and start talking to her in this sickly sweet voice like she was his "baby girl", asking her to rub his virtual face and shit. It was fuckin' weird. These are the kinds of people that Layna is going to have in her circle if she becomes too ingrained in the VRChat culture.
