The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

I didn't get a Google forms email after I submitted and then when I went to the audition form again it was open for me to fill out. Did this happen to any of you as well? Thinking of streaming on my YT and having no views at all for half a year before I come back to vtubing. Idea is to find my groove and feel comfortable having little to no people watching me.

Good or bad idea? Though of using YT since zero discover-ability and nobody will remember me when I switch.

I have no idea why people like me or find me interesting, and I have no idea what annoys or irritates people and scares them off from watching me. Follow other smaller vtubers on Twitter interact with them, make friends, and make yourself involved in the community, you can post funny clips, and post yourself on tik tok and if you are lucky get viral. Stream regularly and try to plan your streams before doing them so they are better. Listen to your vods and write down what you can improve on and what you did correctly and try to do better in the next one. Be involved and friendly with your peers. Be positive and be constant. Try to make your brand as easy to understand as possible, and be predictable

There is no blind trust, but yes vtuber culture seems to emphasize on reaching out and interacting with other vtubers, (probably adopted from collab heavy JP vtubers). Even absolute zero social skill vtubers know they're supposed to interact with others.
Contrast that with non-vtuber content creators on other boards, like /v/, where they just make video game essays or stream to no one for years all by themselves.

The best thing to do is reference real clothes and established styles. Something that doesn't make sense won't translate well into fanart or future models.
Knowing what type of clothing a piece actually is will be incredibly beneficial for your artist so the details / clothing silhouette doesn't get lost in translation.
When I work on models and I need more references for specific pieces of clothing, I always ask my clients if their clothing design is based off of some kind of real clothing. I get mixed answers, and when it's a no, I'll try to find something similar to bring that part of the outfit to life.

Males typically have less viewers because the audience is primarily made up of males looking for female streamers. It doesn't mean they can't do well it means they have more difficulty doing so. Is there an established way for a live streamer (virtual or otherwise) to prove that they are indeed live and it's not a recording?

Responding to chat doesn't really work because:
- you can record yourself saying "banana" and then have a plant in live chat saying "if you're live say banana"
- when a stream is large enough, chat moves too fast to respond to anyway.

I'm thinking of something like, a website that shows a random sequence of 10 digits of pi and updates every 10 seconds, and the randomization method is kept secret so nobody can predict beforehand what 10 numbers will be shown at a future time to prerecord the numbers.
A livestreamer can then open the website live onstream and read out the 10 digits which can be verified by the viewers in real time.
The website also allows you to check the history (e.g. "what was the code on June 10th 2022 at 12pm UTC?") so that even vods can be verified after the fact.

But then again, given enough time, even this can be defeated by speech synthesis, or in the case of virtual performances, have a live person read out the numbers at certain times since mouth/lip motion tracking are still bad anyway
