The problem is that the convention center wifi was no good for 4ch either - the reporter Anon had to pay for a damn pass just to provide his updates. I was lucky that the wifi was good enough to upload my recorded footage of the panel.

I went to a friend at the Hilton and that was fine, Sheraton's lobby was fine but not where the registration area was, same with the wifi in the other hotel I checked out. Prudential center was also fine. But the convention was no good.
Though my 4g worked to load threads and images, odd that yours didn't.

We'll probably need to bite the bullet and create some throwaway discord accounts or some other group application to facilitate a meetup next year, I know a lot of people hate throwing away anonymity but I wonder if there's anything that lets you create temporary group chats without exchanging phone numbers.

You say that, but unless everybody is viewing threads at the same time, it's very hard. For example, there wasn't a /uuu/ up through the whole weekend, so I had to post in /hlgg/ which moves faster.
I'd have to walk around to see content, then step out to post where I was going to be, and hope someone saw. Then walk back in and hope someone interested was browsing, and they'd have to go to usable WiFi, then post where they were or were going to be. Total headache and puts everyone on a 5-10 minute delay.
Much easier if there's a group room we can make for conventions so we can actively post locations or going to restaurants or bars.
