she was niji top dog in 2018 but vtube was a smaller world then...

I assume this is bait.
But Tsukino Mito is still Nijisanji top dog (in Japan at least).
Salami desuwa's (since I assume you refer to her) true standing will only be known once the novelty effect wears off, and we see her regular numbers.

She's special kind. The live stream collab with her boyfriend was legendary.

Vtubing in its current form wouldn't exist if Mito debuted in 2022 and not 2018. Salome now is pretty much going through what Mito was going through back in 2018 though.

She created fake boyfriend using voice changer. Had a conversation with him, duet with him, had a fight with him and then kill him.

Too many variables. Was there a second Mito that kickstarted Nijisanji so everything is the exact same except Mito is now debuting in 2022 as a new member? If so there's no doubt she would have done better today. Maybe not as explosive as Salome, but we've yet to see what Salome is like a year down the line or even a month later. Mito is still going strong after 4+ years with largely consistent viewership.

Absolutely not. Most of Hololive members distinctive quality, actually, is that their Japanese is more or less at elementary school level, and, by and large, they're mostly normies. While not my cup of tea, Mito is waaaaaaay more into subcultures, plays games with less "public" and her Japanese is notably more complex in vocabulary than probably any member of Hololive. Her sense of humour is also much more "Japanese", probably why it just doesn't sit right with me.
As I've said, she's not my cup of tea, but your average EOP would have a hard time figuring out her charm, and to be honest, not even I do.

No. If she didn't exist, vtuber = livestreaming wouldn't exist as mainstream as it is now. If she didn't exist, there would be no nijisanji, which also mean there would be no hololive nor the current vtuber streamer industry. And everyone has to be in 3D. And a lot of them would have to work with company with bad pay because 3D video production only can be done by big company, and it involves a lot of people. There would be gamebu 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 low pay vtuber. No one would receive 50% of what they earn, they would receive much less.
There would also ve surprisingly low amoun of indie because the rig is expensive.

What if we assum its like the current market which mean someone replace mito doing all that shit, and mito is just your another new vtuber? Eh, sango level at most.

You two are forgetting about Ai. Mito just put a different spin on what Ai already had established.

Hell, Ai coined the term 'Virtual youtuber'. Then she got bought out and replaced and went to shit, and Mitos still there more or less the same, but thats a different point!

The standouts for me was the free chat rp, the stable time loop to justify her debut memes, and that time her hairpin went berserk.

I can't even imagine what vtubers would be like if she didn't debut in 2018, the fad might have died completely once all the OGs committed career suicide.

A lot of japs are comparing Salome to her precisely because she was breaking all records before like Salome is doing right now. Mito drew crowds from people who hate/never knew vtubers, her growth was unprecedented, and nobody could figure out for the love of their life why a generic anime school girl stirred up the internet that hard. Salome is what Mito would look like if she debuted in 2022.

Did you even read? Ai's format is video, I'm specifically talking about vtuber equals to streaming. And how mito normalized 2D model. And then I talk about the impact if those doesn't exist
So if no one break that, we would be in AI's format, which is videos and 3d models.

Mito's avatar is one of the nijiapp default models, so if she didn't debuted back then there will be another "mito" taking her place.
Many things might go differently by then, but overall vtuber scene will more or less be the same. Then if she were debuting just recently, and with different model for the obvious aforementioned reason, she might have different yet still similar charm that could make her a rising star. She may or may not redo the wonder we know if she were really debuted back then, but all in all Mito is still Mito.

I don't even want to imagine a Mito that isn't Mito. Can you imagine, she'd actually be a seiso 16 year old class rep JK, what a horrifying thought. Though, I think she's still have the same impact even if she debuts in a different "skin". Like what people said when she got doxxed, people become vtubers to look better and become more interesting than their real selves, but Mito is the reverse because the person behind the avatar is the interesting one.

>> No.25160521

Mito is the reason Nijisanji exists. She was the breakout star from her wave with exponential growth compared to everyone else. People had no idea wtf a vtuber was but found her antics hilarious and intriguing. She was and still is memeable.
