I'm happy for you OP.
As for me, I have to say they improved my life somewhat. I used to watch a lot of political channels and twitch drama, and to be honest it was getting tiring.
Watching vtubers resurfaced something in me and reminded me of simpler times, when i used to watch machinima let's play videos and there was no drama or political shit everywhere. I had to get out of that space and vtubers helped me to replace that, and showed me that there's still a space for that kind of content where you can watch something that is drama free (as much as possible) and politics free.

I agree with you, i feel like i've become a lot more carefree after getting into vtubers. I think this is generally because most of them shy away from serious topics and corpo chubas probably have restrictions for talking about politics. Any "drama" that i do get into now is usually harmless shit that wouldn't matter to most people and i appreciate the change of perspective I've gotten from simply watching some anime streamers

I am friendless and VTubers have done a lot to alleviate my loneliness. Any time the house is quiet and I feel sad I just put on a stream or a VOD and it's like someone is there with me.
