How do you guys just lucid dream left and right? I've had one lucid dream in my entire life. I was being chased across a field by a witch flying on a broom, and I was approaching a tall fence. And I thought the witch is just gonna catch me now, but then I realized it was a dream, and I jumped twenty feet in the air and over the fence. And then I woke up. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm bragging when I talk about it but it is something that interests me. I'm still a layman at it I can't tell you the state of the art objective facts about it.

I have periods when they are more or less frequent. The absolute best and clearest ones happen during daytime naps but most of the time its just a regular dream that I become lucid inside of like you described.

The simplest way to have them and how I started off is simply learning about the dumb but common stuff that happens in dreams. Shit like numbers and letters changing before your eyes, your hands becoming all wobbly like you're on drugs, light switches not doing anything, your teeth falling out... All the random tropes in dreams. In other words, just try to remember your regular dreams. Some people recommend a dream journal but I never did that, I just like to take a few minutes after waking up recounting my dreams. Over time you will just notice these things and be like "oh yeah I rember, so this is a dream" and you'll become lucid. When you do it becomes a balancing act to not exert too much control or you wake up though, that's another skill you learn with experience, you can kind of sense the dream fading when you do and you need to let go.

Write down all your dreams in as much detail as you can the very moment you wake up for awhile. After a week or two of that, set your alarm a couple hours before you intend to get up, and also at half hour increments afterwards until actual wake up time. Continue writing your dreams down. This will work. Just make sure that when you realize you're dreaming you keep that part of your brain in check because you're then riding a fine line between sleeping and actually waking up.

Hypnagogic hallucinations yes. They can be both visual and auditory. I usually fall asleep thinking of Kiki, something simple like we're sitting in a park talking, and then out of nowhere hypnagogia strikes.
