While I'm not sure this was the absolute worst HoloEN has made, I have to agree that it was very disappointing. I normally love Fauna but this was just dumb. They need to do their homework for next offcollab. The first one (with Ame and Ina) was okay because it was their first time and they were singing, but I expected improvement the second time.
Unfortunately, the fanbases are probably too enamored with them to give proper feedback. Hopefully they can figure it out.

Not familiar with the Niji side of things, but HoloEN just seems to be really inexperienced at this sort of thing. If management had arranged a few events as a sort of test drive to show everyone the ropes, things would have gone a lot smoother. I get the impression that the two off-collabs so far (not counting Kiara's vacation) have just been off-the-cuff from the girls, arranging it on their own. Since they're primarily entertainers, it's no wonder they can't figure out all the IT stuff on their own.

The MOST disappointing? That's hyperbole. It was a bit of a letdown though. Mic breaking I guess was not their fault although you could argue Fauna should have gotten a backup, tested beforehand, or packed it securely, depending on how it broke.

I do agree that yes men simps can fuck off with the whole "AS LONG AS THE GIRLS ARE HAVING FUN, WE ARE HAPPY" shit, it sets the standards too low. Kronii in particular had a very underwhelming week, 3 streams, one of which was an SC reading and the other was a game she already beat off screen, the game being Obra Dinn which makes it even worse. To have one hour of an offcollab in exchange for that kind of sucks.

They should have streamed for longer than an hour. They could have told stories about what they did when they met up, all the tee tee and shit that fans eat up. Ultimately, I would have preferred full week of streams to what we got, which was just an hour of scuffed fucking around.

There are plenty of people who tune in just to hear about your exploits and the point of the off-collab is to share stories about those and maybe have a fun little karaoke stream or couch co-op stream. Kiara is a shining example in EN of this because every trip she takes, she takes notes through the whole thing to line up stories for streams, and she usually gets others to do the same (i.e. Mori and Reine).

The most obvious reason is habit. You love your oshi, and therefore love everything she makes. You do this every single stream, so it's almost automatic. It's not rational behavior, but very follows a very logical pattern all the same.
Second, literal copium. You obviously don't want to be disappointed in anything your oshi is involved in and will do anything to prove this true, especially to yourself. Reasserting over and over that something is fine makes you feel more secure in your belief that your oshi can do no wrong. It's like reverse sour grapes.
Third, because it feels good to interact with your oshi. You want that dopamine rush of giving her a digital headpat with a positive comment and her giving you one in return by hearting your comment. It's entirely natural, and I can't fault you for it. You should still realize that this may impact your cognition though.

Anyway, it's obviously also legit to genuinely think the stream was good. My point is that there's plenty of reasons for people to be "yes-men" as well.
For what it's worth, Fauna is my oshi too. I don't criticize the stream because I hate her, or that this was some unforgivable crime. I just think she can do better.

It's difficult to say without knowing the details. Sometimes tech just fails last minute and there's nothing you can do about it. Other times it could've been avoided with more prior testing. Really depends on when they last checked before the stream.

In an ideal world they would also make backup plans, for when their original stream idea doesn't work thanks to technical issues, but I know it's a rather unrealistic expectation, when most companies don't even have backup plans for technical outages.

Technical issues generally happen because of insufficient preparation. Once shit hits the fan, I agree that they could do nothing but wing it. But that doesn't mean nothing can be improved for next time.
Outside of technical issues, I also think Kronii and Mumei (perhaps by instruction from Fauna) could do well to learn a bit about how to handle a microphone in this kind of context. Fauna did try to tell Kronii that she had to speak into the mic to be heard, with mixed results. Be careful not to make very loud noises right next to the microphone with no volume control. Pass around the mic and plan a bit around who speaks when if you have only a single mic. Just basic things. (Note that Fauna was generally good with this herself, but since she's the one with most experience in this context, I think she should probably insist on a bit of direction.)
