Sometimes I wonder why certain regions (Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, German, French, Italian, etc) haven't produced that many successful vtubers. Despite all of these european languages being more spoken than, say, Indonesian.

How come there's Yue Chinese, Wu Chinese, and Jin Chinese, and yet the only Chinese languages I ever hear about are Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese Chinese? Yet Cantonese isn't on that list at all and the ones I've never heard of are really high up.

I speak Sundanese (West Java).
People who live in Central Java or East Java mostly speak Javanese.
If I travel to Central Java, I can still communicate with them using Indonesian language.
Most national TV programs use Indonesian language too.
Most Indonesian speaks at least 2 languages: Indonesian and another ethnic language (Javanese, Sundanese, etc).

I'd argue that France has most anime weebs in europe. And with France being the 2nd most profitable economy in the EU, lots of french citizens have disposable incomes. The puzzle pieces are there for french vtubers to be successful, but they still haven't tapped into their full potential yet.

I don't know maybe because 270 million people compared to 83 million germans. which is already the most populated country in europe. Italy 60M, France another 67M. You can add up all Germany, Italy and France and still not reach the number of Indonesians.

Because those dirty Northerners in Beijing control the country and enforced their language (Mandarin) on everyone else as the standard. You know there's probably at least 100 different spoken Chinese languages, but we all use pretty much the same written language? It's wild.
