Not just ID-tier successful, but EN-tier successful, despite barely even speaking the language? Where were you back when Lofi, or Reine, or Mika debuted? That's it really. Its just that simple. Somehow people forget that vtubing on its own is a foreign concept, with foreign mannerism and how-to-do's that is different from how we do it here. Vtuber is a foreign niche entertainment concept. Just because this is a winning formula in Japan, doesnt mean it can just succeed here.

Kobo calls her subscribers directly by their names and includes them in her videos, she likes similar things and eat the same cheap ass 10 cents streetfood that people here did. She aims for that typical non-vtuber fan indonesian audience, (just like what she was before finding out Hololive just last December) and the audience responded in kind.

Since today is Sunday(in indonesia), I'm watching Kobo's plant vs zombie VOD.
There's something I notice about her, she's the closest thing to an indonesian 3dpd streamer in HoloID.

I think that's one factor of why she has so many donations from SB. Sometimes the donation influences her gameplay and decisions, it makes the audience feel like they're playing together with Kobo.

No, Niji ID isn't a good benchmark. They got axed solely because of Anycolor going IPO, if they're still a private company, they won't axe Niji ID. Look at their financial report, overseas branch (ID-KR) were actually not in negative, but they just deemed not profitable enough to be presented in a quarterly financial report. Cover won't easily axe the Holo ID if they're still on the same level as the early gen 1.
The better comparison would be Maha5, they're on the same level as early gen 1, but they're profitable enough for them to open their JP branch.

This made up rrat made by old fans is not matching up. Holo ID won't fail if they keep on speaking ID, they just won't earn as much.
