Yes its official in the sense that ZUN gave it his blessing to exist. Just being licensed means fuck all and pretty much just puts it one step above being purely doujin. Cave is also making a licensed Touhou game but thats not going to make it canon.

I think the issue here is that people have different definitions of what the extent of "official" means. Its official in the sense ZUN gave his personal okay (making it officially licensed) but not official in the sense that its canon or actually part of official Touhou works.

Lost Word was the biggest disappointment of my life. Seriously, don't play it.
I was so excited for a big 2hu mobile game, but the rates, gacha mechanics, general designs are all so bad.

Bad gacha rates are offset by the easy cube farm and pity rate so that wasn't my issue with it.
The grind for events is godawful though and the gameplay isn't interesting enough to make up for it. That plus the global devs just throw powercreep character after powercreep character at the rate up which killed all the hype for me.
