I'm going to explain this for all the TBAs:

All previous actors and actresses in entertainment history have suffered the curse of being identified as their characters. Women who play villains on soap operas often get shit on in real life because most of their viewers are retarded and can't get the actors are literally getting paid to play a character.

Now, thanks to the miracle of technology, you won't have to. You can make your character an alcoholic and then (sort of) leave that joke behind once you're reincarnated.
But by mixing your real life with the character you've created ("Why does an alien dragon from Mars have such a strong opinion about Earth's fiscal policies?") you're denying yourself the chance to start over. The same goes for your real-life relationships. Your character won't end up breaking up with your boyfriend, YOU WILL. It will happen to your character if you choose it to happen to your character. By mixing the two, you will never be able to escape your real life problems by streaming. (Why is "XXXX" not here today? Why did you delete all the Discord emojis of "XXXX"? Why? But why?)

tl;dr: If you want to stream as yourself and do face reveals, better go back to 3D.

Twitter followers do not reflect on viewer count. Only content matters. Start with a png if you have to. Just move. Stream to no one so you can practice. Save the "debut" until you take the time to realize if you hate doing this or not. Vtubing is the DMing of hobbies: you are there so other people can have fun. It is not for everyone. Most people end up seeing streaming as a chore.

Your twitter analysis is pretty spot on. Streaming definitely becomes a chore and I've started playing vidya less and less off stream. I see vtubers trying to set up specific schedules before they debut, and then end up not being able to stick to them shortly after. Vtubing/Vstreaming is just another kind of content creation, too many think they won't have similar struggles to normal streamers.

I think something that's overlooked a lot by smaller vtubers is the actual stream aesthetics. A lot of them are just the vtuber and their chat overlaid on game footage, which works, but it's pretty minimal. Having things like a border, smooth screen transitions, intro/outro/break screens, etc. are all little improvements that can go a long way for making a stream eye catching for new viewers and just feel a bit smoother overall. I think Eira's streams provide good examples of a lot of these things, while also showing that even a relatively small vtuber can pull them off nicely.
Obviously all of this is unrelated to the actual quality of the streamer themselves and definitely shouldn't be a priority over the actual content, but I still think its something a lot of them could stand to work on to improve their streams as an overall package.
