Might be part of it, but it could also just be that they're having a hard time being retired. Some people work all their lives and are ready to just relax for the last couple of decades they live and some people just hate it. Some people work all their lives and can't stand having nothing to do. I think they're just bored. Based on everything Mousey has said about her parents, they seem like the type who were brought up always working and thinking that was what life meant. She's said her parents have never had a vacation or ever been on one and she's not sure they'd ever agree to it if she sent them on one. Standard Hispanic / Latin mindset really.
