Why nijiEN girls get way less viewers than HoloEN girls while the males get the same or even more?
You could grab a middle of the pack holo like Fauna and tell her to do a "watching paint dry" stream, and it'll still have more viewers than Niji girls
Why is that? Are HoloEN girls just that much better?

First mover advantage more or less. NijiEN males are the first major corpo offerring that caters to the fujo audience so its free real estate. HoloEN girls are the first major corpo offering that caters to the male audience so it was free real estate.

People tend to stick with their oshi once they have one so being the upstart competition in an industry like this as the NijiEN girls are is a tough competition to gain new fans. See how it took HoloJP literally 2-3 years or so of being the underdog in Japan to eventually catch up with NijiJP.

Putting autism aside, here is my idea.
The Holos are pretty much the top dogs of the Vtuber Sphere, there's no denying that. Niji may have a good grip in their homebase, Japan, but Yagoo managed to snag the worldwide theatre. Sometimes it didn't work (chinks) and other times it payed off... really well (EN).
So HoloEN blew up in the western world... some factors likely contributed to it's success, such as rona, the algorithm, clippers, Kaichou, seasonal anime being dookie (well my personal reason) and in general, it was pretty unique at the time. Like anime girls doing dumb shit live, but now you can understand them!
Anyways enter shark cunny. Cute, funny, A, loli, good singer. Then Wiggereaper. I genuinely find some of her music appealing, and the majority did as well. Some considered her the de facto leader due to her debuting first. Also, the gap moe. Then chicken. Multilingual, you can rope a lot of people when you speak different tongues. Very amicable, the "airhead" as she was perceived at the time (tho Goob was also a good candidate for that title).
Watton. La Creatividad.
Tako, very comfy, artist, like holy shit her art is on a league of it's own.
With a colorful cast like that it's no wonder they blew the fuck up sky high. This pretty much cemented the branding power of Hololive.

I'm not even comparing earnings. What I'm comparing is the ratio of female to male Vtubers in that list. Sure there are some male Vtubers earning their good share of bucks, but their source of income do not expand to other male Vtubers. Meanwhile you see the same simps superchatting multiple female vtubers and distributing those earnings in a wider area. So, like I said, the market for male Vtubers doesn't really exist, out of the already cemented outliers in that list. Branding, hololive is known for top female chuubas while manjisanji this days mostly for dudes. Also yes EN holos tend to be more talented and have stronger personalities than niji EN on average, Myth in particular. This is strangely true. I've seen the same dudes giving akasupas to like 5 different HoloENs. They're the oil baron whale outliers, but the point is that the girls manage to make them spread the love instead of going all-in on a single person.

Yeah, Noctyx didn't do as good as they expected. But I think that's down to them ranging from boring to actively bad. Vox and Mysta are actually funny. Luca is kinda endearing if you don't mind the himbo thing. All five actually work well together, and with the ladies. From what I've seen with Noctyx, both Uki and Covid are good for bringing the mood down.

Not collabing with outsiders makes perfect sense to me. Having legal contracts with other companies is a risk that is not necessary, considering everything they've been through already. They can do well enough relying on their own talent. In my opinion, Cali is already becoming a liability just by having a contract with Universal.

Honestly luxium is still just in its early debut phase. Just like how gura and the rest of myth have less views now than immediately after debut, so will lux in a few months.

Most of them just aren't that good of streamers and have tons of filters. Plus they've heavily catered to normalfags who are notoriously flakey and will move to the next fotm meme once vtubers are boring.
