It's still subjective, honestly, but isn't that the fun of this all? Most of us experience music emotionally rather than objectively. Having an emotional attachment with the singer will change your experience of the music, so it's natural that most people prefer their oshi. There are a handful of viewers who have enough training themselves to recognize training, technical skills, etc., but most of us just want to hear something that sounds pretty.
Hell, if you were going by that second set of criteria, the best ENsinger probably isn't in Hololive. Someone like Ironmouse has been stuck with a faulty violin (to use your metaphor) because of lung damage, but she's still skilled enough as a singer to do incredible things with it.

I don't know how you can even make this claim. Sure, there are some ENs who don't do much at all, but there are others who work really hard. If you're making this claim just because Mori juggles streaming and her music career, she's not alone. For example, Ina is juggling streaming with a very successful illustration career. She's doing illustrations for multiple light novels, games, and promotional material. I'm not saying Ina works harder than Mori, I'm saying there's no way to compare the two. extreme deadbeat here who loves most of moris music and has been blasting it daily pretty much since she debuted
no shes not even close to gura, shes not close to suisei but i do prefer her voice to reines, who i think is on a similar level but i prefer mori's tone. acting like reine is on a level with the best holo singers is pretty crazy to me, moona, risu, and suisei all blow her out the water.

the main thing though is that her live singing needs practice, some of her karaoke streams get real rough. she focuses a bit too hard on the creation side vs the practice side of things

i also think most of mori's music (including everything she has done with suisei) does not play to the strengths of her singing voice either and i wish someone would tell her to actually create an original song in low register like how she sings in her envy baby cover, or do more shit that sounds like dark hour.
also important to note she has made absolutely drastic strides since she actually started focusing on her singing and moving away from rap exclusively, and im fully confident she will continue to improve.
