The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

This was the last time I worked on the full scale model… obviously a couple things. Hanged in the upper half since then.
Since I’m still planning to do the ref sheet, would it make sense for me to just use this as a body base and flip it around for the rear?
I think there’ll be at least a few additional changes from the PNG like the legs, feet, and maybe the hands, but haven’t quite decided on how that would go yet.

So I have been building a small audience through YouTube, but it's mostly a male gamer audience who are likely alienated by vtuber stuff.
I probably shot myself in the foot by not having an anime avatar, but how can I make content that attracts a vtuber audience without alienating the gamerbros I already have? Is it even possible?

How do you price yourself for commissions if your normie wage job pays much more than what your art is worth?

I'm thinking of starting emote commission at $20 per emote. However, it takes me 1.5 hours to draw an emote from sketch to completion. My normie job is $30/hour, but I don't think I can justify charging over $25 for an emote.

Big emote artists can charge like 50bucks for an emote. It all depends on both your quality of work and established following, best strategy is to start a bit low and slowly raise as you get more comfortable/have more client and followers etc.

I'm not sure for how much longer i can cut my sleep for streaming, but it's probably not gonna last till the end of the year. I'll do my best until then and probably explode. I like streaming, but the looming dread that somehow it's all pointless kinda hovers over me and i don't even know why, because i'm having fun. I suppose the issue is that streaming is inherently connected with the purpose of getting higher numbers and making it, that disconnecting it is impossible no matter how much you try to ignore it.

I'm very jealous of those people who started making Let's play videos on youtube like 10 years ago and still keep uploading every day, while getting 30 views per video. They live in their own world and just enjoy putting stuff out there. Truly remarkable. My friend watches one of these and he uploaded over 6000 videos since 2008 and still seemingly has fun doing it despite every video getting 3 digit views. I hope he can enjoy this for many more years to come.

I did spend a lot of time on it, partly because I had to learn the software so I don't think my effort is going to waste. Do you play any musical instruments? Because streaming is very much alike to learning an instrument.
Those who have learned how to play instruments from 10 years ago are just enjoying the fruits of their labor today, and they are good enough to be able to audition for a band (eg. entering a corpo).
Most people who learn an instrument way late in their lives pursue it as an artform and an endless grind to be better than their previous selves, it's very much like streaming. The numbers get bigger as you get better at entertaining people and doing your reps.
It might feel like a pointless journey but I'm sure people who learn instruments in their 30s are not aiming to be rockstars in a year or two anyway, and they don't compare themselves to Steve Vai or Slash. Since you don't use Twitter it's a bit more difficult for you to get the appeal. Followers don't necessarily translate to viewers, but getting eyes on you is the essence of basic marketing online.

In that case, visual appeal (which is generally natural for most vtubers) and showing off your appeal (personality) in an accessible way (clips, memes, voice recordings, etc) is the best way to get someone interested in you enough to follow. There are tons of people who stopped playing past the beginner level and let their guitars accumulate dust, but there are also people who just find the daily grind to be fun because they have set a goal. Perhaps they want to emulate their favorite players, maybe they want to play a certain song, maybe they want to perform a sick solo. Pretty much the same as streamers, they set a goal that they need to accomplish.

I want to do a test stream to stress test my pc + connection. Is it enough to just use twitch inspector? If I want to do a live test, can random people stumble upon my stream? Assume I don't use tags for this

Initial jank due to not having the shader fully configured and the stream dying 20 minimum before I actually ended it

Also, is there anything I could do with the mic audio aside from EQ? Separately, what could I do with EQ? The only filters that I have right now is noise gate/compressor. My current audio chain:

So other than catering to peasants is there actually any reason to not run VBR these days? Twitch inspector spiking to 16000 doesn't seem to mind as it still calls the stream stable.
