I mean, for a brief window before HoloEN blew up the Western scene, she was gaining some steam as one of the few English speakers from a Japanese company i.e authentic. This was also the time window Risu and Pikamee were gaining ground fast because apart from Coco throwing a few bones and everyone wishing really fucking bad she speak English, nobody in the real scene was doing it yet except a couple IDs. So when EN got going for real and her foreign audience vanished, she got all butthurt and jaded and never recovered, and retreated into the "t-the gang's all here :')" attitude with her other IDs.

Working 3 days sucks if you have to work with people who actively make your life hell. Imagine you can only work at an Amazon Warehouse or a Walmart and it's in Florida so all the customers who come demanding to know where their package is are fat angry boomers who feel extremely entitled to your time, but then you get some kind of opportunity to escape- however bad- that would finally free you from "3 days a week of eating pure shit". Inevitably, most people would choose to escape this kind of living hellish tedium.

This is the main reason. Nijisanji keeps pumping more livers like AKB48 keeps recruiting new girls. It only works in a place like Japan with their weird idol culture.

If HoloID is doing the same, I bet they would fail too. But Hololive is smarter, instead of investing in new talents, they were using the income to reinvest in their quality, like new costumes (ID1 got a new costume 4 months after their debut, while Niji ID got a new wave 3 months after their first wave debut), new live2d, and now Holo ID1 got their 3D while Niji ID left in the mud because Hana refused it.
