I guess I just figure we're all a bunch of dipshits just kind of hanging out whether it be in these threads or on discords or wherever. I wouldn't say every small chuuba posted here is part of this little community we got going on but even for the ones outside of it they seem pretty approachable within their own circles. I mean at the end of the day they're all just some guys and girls streaming minecraft or apex while pretending to be a cat or a dog. It pains me because I'm seeing the past being repeated over and over again.
In indie idol scene already, Nyaru had to deal with this kind of thing as she was always befriended/approached for her strong influence on the idol scene in her state, including her role in selecting the participants. Not to mention IOC.
However the few times an acquaintance would make it (partly thanks to her), she was quickly forgotten.
Just the shit she and Julily got from Shining Idol Project for giving them good advice... so frustrating.

She's competent, she takes care of a lot of things for other people yes. And for many years people have abused her kindness and how she tends to look after others, forgetting herself.
Even now, despite the front she shows, she's a a bit of a pushover and afraid to do anything that could make someone dislike her, with her big self-esteem issue she ends up unable to reach out if i's not literally someone with like 10 viewers.
She really gives it her all and a lot of people are always just riding the wave and being her "friends". I'm not saying everyone of course some are genuine (most the ones NOT from her past idol circles), but at some point she has to think about herself.
She doesn't reach out to the people she could, like she could have done a lot more with Phoebe, with how long they've known each other. Honestly, they could have both run their own idol vtuber group with a better focus on that, S-Pro has no image, no branding, it hardly does anything.

I'm just sad to see her in this kind of situation again. Of course I'm not in her head, but I've seen all this play out before and it'll end the same if something doesn't change here. Only her can solves this, so yeah it's frustrating to see someone I respect struggle.

Even if it's highly unlikely she moves, my first guess would be Tsunderia as they're very open to someone keeping their character AND they do have a good focus on music with multiple cover collabs and all.
I don't think PC would take her with her model but she's a good candidate nonetheless, but it's hard to imagine her abandoning nyaru. She has a lot of talent in management however so honestly if someday it happens I'll be curious to see her and people like Phoebe make an actual idol (in the performance sense) vtuber agency some "big" names of the indie idol scene in america have been searching for alternatives and reconversions since Corona and could bring some fanbases too.

I used to think the Nyaru OLEV shit was a meme even after the YFU contest incident. I personally don't understand it at all. She sings and dances very poorly which is cute and SOVL and all that good shit but that does that really make her a good choice for anything other than being an indie or continuing in whatever the hell S-Pro even is?

I'll admit I've had sub-par oshis in the chika-idol scene because it admittedly makes their hard work and growth even moer apparent, but at some point you have to admit she's not really meant for the masses and is just better off in that underground scene, I feel like it means less disappointment in the future.

There's a little misunderstanding here. And a big post to come.

First, vtuber idols are pretty different from actual idols and much more lax, your character is the idol. Technically all HoloJP are idols even Botan, and most can't dance, not all can sing.

For Nyaru the dancing part is ??? it has no importance until a 3D model is obtained and even then doesn't track so well that good or bad dancing would be distinguished
The singing yes she's lacking there, it's not a deal breaker however as it's not such a disaster that it couldn't be edited clean for song or cover releases. It's acceptable to be more natural "live" which are more often about fun/energy, and have clean releases.

The point is, she's been hard carrying S-pro, first with Yoro and now with Phoebe for more than a year

Aren't they just a parasite at this point? the 2-3 who lead pay some unknown staff nobody sees the work of?

And at last, the big post earlier did mention Nyaru management capabilities, already in the past she shifted more to a role of managing, counselling, organisation. Of course I don't know what she wants exactly but it's not unthinkable of her to have a role similar to (RIP) Slugma from Tsunderia who manage others while still streaming a bit. But honestly even indie, from the limited info available, seems better than this.

Is mentioned events from 2020 semi-regularly being stuck there? When 2020 is literally THE year of the 2nd boom in the west which saw the EN vtuber scene goes from like 50 vtubers to ten thousands, the debut of HoloEN, the debut of /wvt/ and many of the vtubers relevant?
2020 is like yesterday, and most things now are directly tied to that yearn referencing it is normal.

My most hated game of all time is Lunar Dragon Song on the Nintendo DS for being both one of the most incompetent JRPGs of all time, but also for being a stain and a disgrace to the Lunar series, which is one of my favorites. I bought the game at launch because I was so excited for a new Lunar game and I was greeted with the worst piece of garbage imaginable. Lunar Dragon Song makes shit like Beyond the Beyond look like a masterpiece. I hate that game so goddamn much you have no idea. Every single decision they made is bad. Want to run instead of walking at a snail's pace? Go ahead, but it drains your HP, even if you're INSIDE A FUCKING TOWN. Want to target a specific enemy in battle? Too bad, you can't, should've played a better game. Want a fun overworld to explore? Fuck you, have a menu of locations.

Also, playing awful Doom clones from back in the day could be fun. One I remember fondly from one of those awful Shareware 2000 type discs was Ken's Labyrinth, which was actually one of the first projects from Ken Silverman (Build engine guy) before he made Build. It's a cheesy little Wolfenstein clone, but it was a gem on that trash shareware disc.

It's so hard to fuck up a JRPG that badly. Like, you don't even have to do anything new, just do everything well enough, and players will enjoy your game. I personally enjoy plenty of mediocre to bad JRPGs because they manage to scratch that particular itch, but I've never seen a game fuck up every single element quite like Lunar Dragon Song does. It's fairly ugly by any standards, and there are much better looking 2D and 3D JRPGs on the DS. The music is generic sounding at best, and actively offensive at worst, with terrible low quality sampled MIDI instruments. The menus are even ugly to look at, somehow. And oh yeah, when you win a fight, you can choose to receive EXP, or items. Never both, it's one or the other.

For fuck's sake, THIS is the final boss theme. It's a travesty. I don't know if I've ever been truly angry on stream, but this game would do it to me. I should've gone to bed already but I've angried up my blood thinking about Lunar.
