The way Cover works (and to an extent Niji) is they try to get high talent people to be Vtubers for them, but by a non-minimal amount of them being pretty much e-prostitutes (with at least one being an actual e-prostitute) it makes people who have talent to succeed in other areas steer fully clear of it out of not wanting to be associated with them in any way. Imagine you told your mother or father you're a vtuber, they google it, and run across an article about Melody, and then you have to try to explain you aren't stripping for money as a Japanese anime girl. Cover, and the entire vtuber fad, would benefit from vshojo disappearing as a whole. You can even see some degree of proof in this theory in Niji en, which shocks even jp niiji with the amount of "pandering" they do. One could consider that a direct result of vshojo's continuing erosion of the hobby, and it proves they're an actual danger to Cover's business model in the long run if they can't get more people to watch because of the Vshojo stigma in the west.

Possibly. My point is that they need others to expand on Twitch in their place, not the girls themselves. Though it would be a strategy they could employ it carries it's own risks, and overall I'd say it wouldn't be worth it. It could net them more money though, so I suppose it may be an indicator they're going with a different approach. The main point is that the longer vshojo exists, the more Covers talent pool rots from the inside out and scares off actual talent from bothering. So far they've been good about avoiding the types vshojo fosters, but they may not get enough for a gen when they want one and settle for their type one day. Stars en will be a good indicator of how far along that process is when they come out.
