She's not really irrelevant. The main thing that made her particularly popular was her playing Doom, which got a lot of people into Hololive. She doesn't play many big games right now so she's not as popular, and she specifically doesn't want to be known as the 'Doom Vtuber' which is in part why she hasn't played Doom Eternal yet causing her popularity to decrease, but it's always very fun watching her play old games that are also particularly popular games (even newer popular games are fun, but old ones are especially fun like Banjo Kazooie and the like)

Kind of the same for me? I started getting into chuubas just days before holoEN debuted, but didn't care too much about them when they started. For the most part I still stuck with Korone, Okayu and Pekora. Over time I also looked into other holo chuubas out of curiosity what they and their streams are like. Only occasionally I would look into english speaking ones, either when they had some special stream or interesting games coming up.

Now almost 8 months later and having passed the follow them all phase, my list has almost completely flipped. There's a few selected JP girls I still tune every other day, but the majority of time clearly flows into chuubas that have atleast some basic grasp of the english language and actively use it (I don't count occasional duolingo streams).

You're conflating what the phrase "face of hololive" means, what you really mean is she's popular with EOPs
She's never really been the face hololive, she's almost never did promotional streams, worked on projects outside of the vtuber sphere or even within hololive itself for that matter, she's never really ever been a brand ambassador for the company
In fact up until recently she basically stayed in her own lane, never really collabing with people outside of her own gen and subaru
