How long does it take designers to draw and rig a professional model like that? Also how much do they get for it? Watching yt tutorials that shit seems easier than expected so there must be a catch, especially if I rember da rhombus gura

It really depends on the artist and how in depth you want your rig. Some of them spend literal months on rigging if they're paid to the highest degree and are extremely good at their jobs.
I'd look towards iron vertex for higher quality rigs. Their T2 rigs take two weeks alone to create but their art is really good

Don't be fooled by the rigging tutorials; the steps are simple but the process takes a lot of time. And the problems often pops out near the end, at that point even tiny adjustment would sometimes requires a near overhaul. So sometimes I understand why umiushi kept the rhombus, he's probably not skilled enough to fix some end level issues.

Frankly, rigging doesn't require as much talent as drawing, the quality depends mainly on hardwork and persistence.

But 800 can get you in. 5k gives you the best rigging-wise and pretty damn good artist-wise.

Well, the catch is, you have to be good at layering and distorting the assets. I'm not really sure but it seems like they also need to be calibrating it with the streamer's camera setup / positioning too so the model works properly.

Do them wrong and you'll get that "something's off" feeling like Anya's 2nd (unrevised) L2D, or Elira's OG L2D

I'd say you need a decent understand of perspective and how a head would look at angles and profile. Easier said than done. Many proffesional artists/riggers struggle with it.

art can range depending on the complexity of the design and how many pieces it needs to be cut up into. every single part that moves has to be on its own layer, so more complex designs take longer. rigging you're looking at 8 hours minimum start to finish, more complex designs and physics add-ons again increase that time.

It's not the artist's fault, the back of her head is normal in the art. The rigger just pushed it upward for some reason

Not to mention her face gets bigger when she's facing forward. Iron vertex provide a really low quality rig for what they're charging. They're not even trying their best for corpos like Hololive, i.e. Gura's dress
