Yes. About all of this. Will check the lore again, this part had several rewrites and I might messed up in the final text. It's the Serpent Embrace (too many names to keep track when writing in a rush; also I want to know if all the names are approved, those need votes). Also I mixed the Boros/Ouroboros as you say, will fix it but I need to read it again with time in my hand. At the same time I was waiting for inspiration to write loretext to expand that myth with more details, but it might not be done anytime soon as time/inspiration are mia on my side.

Right now it says Cort'an and her bewitched followers wielded a spear that spits fire and lead in reference to guns but maybe we can change it to fire and death or thunder and lightning or something less concrete? It feels wrong to know the exact details of a divine weapon. It should have more mystery. Our guns should be a pale imitation of the real thing.

And the distinction between Boros and Ouroboros seem iffy on the Boros volcano myth right now and kind of inconsistent. I suggested how Ouroboros and Boros could be distinct entities so I guess I should have examined it better and discussed it at the time it was posted so sorry for that. But myth starts with Boros being owned by the Goddess but later says Boros became a servant of Kronii when the Kronii faith developed. I my suggestion is that Boros should not be Kronii's pet so that there is a reason why worshipping Boros is heretical and it makes sense Boros is not Kronii's pet since he existed before the Kronii faith.

Also, maybe we can develop the idea of how Boros became Ouroboros.
Before Kroniism, there existed worship of Boros. The volcano myth is one example of a myth about their own deity. But when Kroniism came to the island and developed as a religion, the local deities were retooled into Kronii's mythology. So followers of Kroniism renamed Boros into Ouroboros and made him a pet that was born on the island after Kronii descended to the island (whereas Boros just always existed on the island). Followers of Kroniism hoped this would make Boros and his worship forgotten but the myths lived on through oral tradition and Boros never truly disappeared. All this history is forgotten now though. Nowadays people know Boros and Ouroboros as entirely separate entities and are unaware that they both share the same origin.

In the same way, Boros and Ouroboros are interchangeable name-wise but different myths have the snake to have always existed on the island or be a relatively newborn baby. One myth has the snake in a deep slumber in the lake and another has him in a deep slumber in the sea surrounding the island.
