My take on this is like that. She's disingenuous when she's bragging about becoming fluent in 5-6 months.
First, she studied in language school. She didn't learn japanese there, but she did learn some latin and spanish. More important, she learned HOW to learn languages there.
Second, it's not like she came to japan and went from 0 to fluent in half a year. Being a huge weeb she started learning jap way, way back. So she had the basics down, then she came to japan and only increased her proficiency from decent to native. That's something anyone can do with enough effort. And she definitely put in the effort.
Third, I think she just has a natural inclination to learning languages(good memory when it comes to words and images/patterns). She's a dummy in everything but that.

I actually don't mind co-op games like Phogs that require teamwork because that gives them a chance to look into each other's way of thinking and there's a chance to bond. Both the Reine and Watame collabs were cute and fun with the addition of Kiara keeping up small talk during the more boring parts (it also helped that both of them know how to keep a conversation, for starters). Yeah I know. But that's a different kind of problem. Living in Japan is a cultural problem.
Living in krautland is more of a "getting used" problem. As she said since her teenage years she was basically traveling all around the world. Living here and there for 3 or 6 months, a year or 2 in japan and so on. She doesn't really have a home in that regard.

But over time it should be really easy for her to settle in in krautland. Same culture, same main language, closest friends and family living there etc. I dont see any problem. Give it time and at the end of the year she will be happy. Pretty sure.
