You do know vitubium exists right? Anyway I'll do some surface research for you. It appears there's a variety of ways gem deposites can come to earth. Since /risu/ doesn't have volcanic activity then the gems have to come from sedimentary processes. Turquoise and opal seems to be your more common gems. As for rarer stone deposits they'll have to come from landslides and rivers from the mainland if you're lucky. You're probably better off having different colored chuubamite crystals for spell casting.

Does /risu/ have dry riverbeds. If they do then you may find secondary deposits of gems to mine. Even when your river changes course that maybe a good time to go gem hunting. Secondary deposits can also be found through landslides, wind erosion, etc. Secondary deposits are easier to mine than primary deposits.

I also thought about /rrat/'s subterranean biome. It looks like they have a lot of underground rivers and channels. If there's enough light from the surface there can be underground lush caves quite similar to /rose/'s underground. Just not as bright. Depending on erosion /rrat/ might have easy access to copper and gold in the mountains.

Any kind of spice that you're looking for in particular?

>>21283399
Rivers will be fairly common in /risu/ due to all the rainfall, although I feel the issue's that /risu/'s flat terrain means there aren't a lot of rocks to erode, which seems to be the sticking issue when it comes to its gem deposit. Based on the geologic province map, I would say most of /risu/'s stone (and gemstone) would be coming from hydrothermal deposits (as most of its land likely come from the constructive continental margin to the northeast), hence my tentative list in >21113715 when we're waiting for geoanon to do it more properly. I only listed off the more common ones (quartz, agate, grape agate, amethyst, citrine, and rose quartz), but there're probably more types of gemstones available.
I'll see if I can find a geology textbook once the local library opens back up again.

>> No.21287708

Makes since. If you have lots of coal then you'll find diamond if you dig deep enough. In theory. Its usually not worth mining gems from primary deposits. Now if you have easy secondary deposits then sure. Go mining. /nasa/ is relying on sedimentary deposits because the mountains are on /rrat/'s border. That said /nasa/ is in a solid place for sedimentary deposits with the tundra wetland. The richest iron mines on earth are sedimentary deposits.

Also this is a question for later but how interested is /infinity/ in coke production? Coke is used in blast furnaces to make pig iron (hot iron) into easy steel. /nasa/ is planning on producing coke for our own blast furnaces. Plus /nasa/ can harvest the sulfuric acid and carbon monoxide to make other stuff.

Would /nasa/ even have hydrothermal deposits? We're quite a ways from the tectonic fissure.

>> No.21292304

>>21289822
I'm kind of doubtful (but I don't really know enough about geology to tell for sure), since compared with /risu/, /nasa/'s land is probably exposed for a longer time (based on the tectonic analysis, where the council plate is probably spinning at a slow rate compared with others, hence the constructive plate boundary at Sakuran), so I assume weathering will grind down a good chunk of the sedimentary strata despite polar conditions not being conducive to that. As such, maybe only the hardest part of the deposits (like zircon, although sedimentary zircon seems pretty small and not of gemstone quality) will be left.

Given that /rrat/ has an expansive cave system, I assume it's probably part of a larger karst cave system (limestone dissolved by water over a very long time, carving out very deep caves like the ones you might've heard about in South Caucasus. In that case, some of these paths might be close enough to the surface that part of the roof have caved in, creating sinkholes that let sunlight in. In practice, that's probably the main source of light /rrat/ has. It'll probably have a lot of underground water, which will be home to cavefish and other troglobites. Of course, in most cases, the lack of sunlight and thus photosynthesis means that these biomes will be pretty barren.

>>21292765
Digging down will likely lead you to the igenous/metamorphic strata beneath the surface.
As for iron, tundra seems to be famous for its iron deposit, but I can't find why that's the case. I guess you can assume /nasa/'s set in that department before we know more about the underlying cause (if nothing else, the tundra terrain likely means no one has been mining there before).

>> No.21294545

All anchored posts in the last thread archived. Also reorganised /nasa/'s archive a bit.

>>21293943 (Me)
>It'll probably have a lot of underground water, which will be home to cavefish and other troglobites
It means /rrat/ in general. The sinkholes will be relatively lush due to their access to sunlight, allowing algae and plants to grow... although being exposed to the cold mountains outside (not to mention being on limestone rock) might be detrimental to large plant growth.
I guess one implication of this is that most of the mushroom substrate (the kind of stuff mushroom grows on, and convert the usually inedible stuff into edible mushroom) will likely come from either tundra grass and moss, or lumber from lower elevation area. They might also want to save their droppings...

>> No.21296156

>>21294545
The mushrooms eating the decaying matter underneath produces warmth. There's a species of turkey that uses fungus in decaying leaves to warm eggs. (I think brush turkeys?) Also there might be some lava flow the closer you get to Sakuran.

>>21293943
The nords were famous for their iron which came from the tundra. Because nobody settled here we should find both iron surface mines and drill deep mines? I do know /nasa/ has unearthed some meteorites that seem to have come from a meteor shower. Though meteorites are too rare to melt down into useful materials. Well at least we have iron, coal, and shale oil. Now if only we can get other minerals like aluminum, zinc, lead, and copper. /nasa/ will have to import those elements sadly. Which means diesel powered ships should be the next major advancement.

>/rrat/
They do, but from what I can tell, the heat's not too significant (usually a few degrees for mushroom - brushturkey incubation mounds are kept around 33 degrees Celsius, but they live in Australia, so the temperature difference probably isn't too significant). I think /rrat/s might need to rely on things like fire and insulation to keep themselves warm. For lava, /rrat/ itself sits near a destructive plate boundary, so it should have volcanism already. Magma does keep you warm (and is the main reason why things get warmer the deeper you go - about 35 degree per km - although it should go without saying that living near magma chamber underground can be risky at times.
>/nasa/
From what I can tell, Nordic Iron Age was mostly powered by bog iron (which I reckon /nasa/ would also have plenty of due to its tundra wetland) rather than mineral deposits (bog iron does count as deposit, but I digress), although it's hard to tell whether that's due to limits of geology or technology (extracting iron from bog iron is easier than from other iron ores).
The other minerals you listed seems to be something that can be found in SedEx deposits. On one hand, they seems to be common (or at least more easily accessible) in wetland biome due to how they form, but on the other hand, I don't know if the permafrost beneath the active layer is going to put a stop to it (water can't really pass through ice), so maybe /nasa/ will have to drill through the permafrost to gain access to them.

When it comes to exporting medicine there's a risk of it being reverse engineered. But usually reverse engineering medicines need chemistry beyond this age. Any drugs /meat/ is looking for?

>> No.21300219

>>21299532
/meat/'s probably aware of it, so it won't ask /nasa/ to export their own medicine (which is probably in short supply and thus too expensive/invaluable anyway). Just that I think once they learn /nasa/ can process food into what they see as smaller and more efficient packages, some will ask if the same can be done with drugs, alcohol and herbs they use.
I don't have the exact detail, but /meat/ lore has its veteran warriors make use of liquor (primarily corn whisky) mixed with chuubanite-enhanced shrooms and herbs to go berserk in battle. This is usually done only by veterans because it takes experience to control the consumption in such a way to reliably go berserk without just getting knocked out cold. With /nasa/ processing and packaging technology, though, the consistency will make it easier for less-experienced people to benefit from the effect. It's probably not something that can be reverse-engineered, since /meat/ already has the ingredients and make use of its effect. It's just that they don't have the technology to refine them for easier use.

Basically, what wouldn't even be enough for a good high for us, killed one of the leaders of the planetary government in a moment. Guess we can just take more than most creatures can. If /nasa/'s interested in helping /meat/ refine its drugs, /meat/'s happy to send what they use to /nasa/ for them to poke around, or have them come to /meat/ to research, since the vote has decided that chuubanite beyond their land will (gradually?) lost their potency, so some field study might be required if they want to see how it works in the native environment.

I did some digging (heh) in the Encyclopedia of Geology (the pdf in >>21289138), and it seems we might be able to add some igneous gemstones to /risu/'s list, although the amount might not be as significant as countries in regions with active volcanism.
The part about secondary deposit is correct (>>21282673), although /risu/ still suffers from being mostly flat and thus has smaller amount of rock to weather away.
With that said, the previous comment about hydrothermal gemstone still applies, and apart from what I listed, you can probably add topaz and emerald into the list.
Despite its fame in tropical countries like Myanmar, ruby and sapphire is probably not something common in /risu/ due to their metaphoric nature - Myanmar's sapphire comes from the Himalayas upstream, where the progeny has the required pressure and heat to generate it.
Other kinds of minerals of note that might be present in /risu/ include turquoise and malachite (considered gemstone only in finer grade, although it also contains copper), as well as galena (a common source of lead, although the extraction process creates a lot of lead and sulphur fume), which also contains a bit of silver.
I'll keep you updated when I find more in my future dives.

I've been making notes for a lore-dump, but I feel that there are a few questions that need answered before I can get to writing.

First question: When /who/'s partial annexation of /uuu/ was voted to be undone, did the land grab still happen in the first place or was it retconned into never occurring? If the former, is there a general consensus on how long it lasted?
For reference, the thing I'm planning to write is a summary of how Saplings from /uuu/ adapted to life in /who/ before things went back to normal and how they may have potentially affected some minor aspects of /who/ during the time there. As you can guess, if the initial deal between the two never happened, I can shelf this idea in favor of something else.

My other question is a consequence of my notes: If something is written concerning two countries and/or their inhabitants, does it count as lore for both or just one of them?
I admit that I'm from /who/ and that the piece is meant to be from the POV of someone from /who/ reporting a series of observations over a course of time, but when looking at my bullet points it seems to be that most of them are about the Saplings themselves and the questions I plan to ask /uuu/ about them adapting to life in a different country. It seems likely that more of this piece will be about the Saplings than it will be about the Hoomans, and I want to be sure ahead of time if this imbalance is okay assuming the other thread involved was consulted for notes and a draft of the lore is sent to both threads.

To the Northeast from /KFSP/, /duck/ declares itself an open city to avoid unnecessary destruction. A small /KFSP/ detachment posts itself there.
(following the Owl Republic lore) the Republic of /who/ has around 10 legions each comprised of over 25,000 troops, in total a land army 250,000 strong.
Going to assume the technology and battlefield scenario of this world is of the 18th century, but far from 1870-WW1 periods.
/KFSP/, having just endured a damaging civil war from the inside have an injured economy, barren economic and military leadership, and a newly conscripted army in need of equipment, uniforms, provisions and trained officers. Northeastern detachment (5000~) still posted in /duck/ + 4 newly formed corps (20,000 soldiers each) + 30,000 cavalry + 5000 numbers of special airborne 'Phoenix' battalions and fireborne artillery and field artillery pieces
And plenty of auxiliary, engineers (because Germans), sappers, and a logistic/medical/pay department responsible for keeping the war machine oiled and running

maybe gonna organize these ideas later

It may not become an international war at all, unless you account diplomatic ties and mutual-defense agreements. /owl/ allies may join the war, invasion of /duck/irk might have repercussions later on, and in this case /KFSP/ has a near nonexistent navy. Inability for naval projection means no trade with faraway countries, no international projection, no joint land-sea operations. Adjust strategy accordingly.

KFSP Imperial Army
initially 4 separate Corps, now 5-7 being organized
Corps system allow for independent operation as a mini-army, in prelude to rejoining other corps and giving battle as a much larger force. As /KFP/ land is mountainous and lacking in proper roads, Corps can move faster along multiple routes than in a single file as a main army. Perfect for blitzkrieg tactics and Napoleonic-level maneuvering.
Corps I-V are composed of 15,000 infantry, 5,000 cavalry, and its baggage and artillery train. in all, just a little over 20k strong. Corps VI-VII respectively are reserve corps and a dedicated Cavalry corps under the direct command of the Kaiserin herself, Kiara I.
Lastly, there are special Phoenix battalions that can be amassed during an opening of a battle to act as a grand battery of powerful artilleries, airborne firebombers and a viable shock/guard regiment of elite troops.
The general /KFSP/ foot soldier is armed with a flintlock powder musket, slightly inferior to the /owl/ soldier and his issue firearm. Provisions and uniforms are pretty standard as well. The line infantry is distinguished by brilliant, white coats and orange-blue helmet plumes, reminiscent of the mythical Phoenix's feathers. Light infantry and skirmishers are more camouflaged with green uniforms good for forest biomes.
The cavalry from the pre /KFSP/ civil war is one of the best in it's age, but turmoil has affected them a bit. Heavy cavalry and light cavalry as usual, and the elite hussar and scout regiments are one of the most endeared elements of the KFSP imperial army. They can traverse rough terrain with ease, and cover many miles ahead of the army, acting as a screen and its very eyes and ears.
emphasis on artillery and the Phoenix battalions, as they are quite special. while gliders and rudimentary aircrafts are not a surprise in this world, the abundance of and the strong industry in KFP for manufacturing Phoenix wax and Phoenix gravy leads to powerful advancement in weapons employing fire and artillery. While /owl/ artillery is in general far heavier and superb in siege warfare, KFP field artillery is light and highly mobile thanks in part to attached cavalry batteries. These pieces are deployed with deadly efficacy against enemy lines, and since this is the age of line warfare, it's something that decides a fate of a battle.
Sieges can get quite ugly. Storming of battlements and walls by KFSP flametroopers are difficult, but such weapons brought too much fear even to the enemy. eventually use of such inhumane weapon is banned.. airborne firebombing however is not so different a story. Phoenix wax is like white phosphorus, and can burn down entire cities. If however an airborne firebombing force is spotted in advance, defensive measures can be mounted. Firebombing is only really effective on clear days.

Logistics and good governance however are far more important in the grand scheme of things. Given the aggressive expansionist policies of /KFSP/ in its effort to develop and sustain itself, a war on multiple fronts is imminent. The theocracy of /wah/ on the west, /mion/ in the north, /duck/ northwest, and /holo/x in the east may join in a coalition together with the /who/ republic to launch an incursion in /KFP/ and overthrow the KFSP.

honestly if the goal is to establish a lasting, prosperous empire, in the likes of the Roman Empire, the First French Empire, or the British Empire, there has to be a vigorous combination of diplomatic, political, economic and social reform not just militarily. Can't wage war against the whole world, Alexander was about to do that and his conquest fell apart quickly when he passed away. So while its tedious to keep occupying the surrounding countries around /KFP/, they must be kept in line. A federal system but still imperial may work fine, diplomacy ensuring /duck/ and all the other neighboring countries remain allies that are willing to comply troops, materials and pay levies to ensure KFP supremacy.

Gentlemen. It is I, The OGsuner. With a brilliant idea. In fact this may be the greatest idea i ever had.
Ive been super excited about PRETTY GEMS PRETTY GEMS recently and I think i have the solution to obtaining pretty gems and their usage.
So risu is a magical forest. With magic. Gemstones are known for being catalysts for wands, staffs, orbs, and magic crystals exist.
Lets do some fucking magic
In terraria, you can combine acorns with gems to create gemcorns, which you can then plant in the ground to create gemtrees.
Thats right......GEMTREES
I WANT TO GROW EMERALDS AND RUBIES OUT OF THE FUCKING GROUND INTO TREES WITH THE POWER OF THE LAND
Now you may be asking what would i do with all these shiny rocks?
Well, BURN THEM OF COURSE
Like i said, each gem can be used as materials for spells, so for example rubies can basicaly be used as a source of fuel for fire, kind of like coal.
Each color gemstone has its aligned usage with some for healing, others for weapons even but they disintegrate upon use.
So they need to be replanted. Which is why I propose the molerisuners have an underground gemtree farm.
>grows gems out of the ground just to throw them in fire
>pays everyone in nuts
IM A FUCKING GENIUS AND I LOVE IT! I CANT WAIT FOR YOU ALL TO TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!
HOLY SHIT IM EXCITED

rose quartz is pink so the gem of love. ill leave the usage to your imagination.
amethyst is purple so that could be the gem of death. Wizards would need to defend themselves so amethyst would be on their staffs that they could have a one time use of an energy attack of some kind (like in terraria)

Well heres the thing that i need to establish. I liked the idea of mai pretty gems because the magic concept is fucking awesome but the witches that do this are EXTREMELY limited. There are most likely less than 50 witches in all of /risu/. Most risuners wont have this luxury of gemstone magic and it wont even be in the major cities. Finding a gem witch will ironically be like trying to find an actual gem, it will be deep in the forest with entire small settlements centered around one witch. Our witches of course are treated with extreme high respect and serve as leaders in their respected settlements.

The runes would be sparkly and pretty and would glow when used. They would also enhance the focus of wands and staffs via vitubium circuitry so the gem doesn't explode in your face. For wands the gem can be at the end of the grip. Then when you flick the wand the energy flows through the runes straight to the tip. The magical tree wood would serve as an insulator to the runes so that your fingers don't burn. Also magic wood doesn't incinerate like regular wood.

Speaking of vitubium wands it makes sense that the wands and staffs would be activated with kinetic actions. One of the ways of charging vitubium is with a kinetic impact. Perhaps what you can do to activate the wands is shake the nuts inside. The nuts then hit the vitubium to charge it up. Then you flick the wand to shoot that energy wherever you aim. Same with staffs too, though staffs are more of an area of effect rather than precise like wands are. I knew I would figure out how to make nuts work with this eventually.

alright I'm going to have to call a veto, or at least a very heavy rework to the KFSP. I find it, as it currently stands, very difficult to reconcile with current KFP lore. The Holobirds are much more likely to form an Axis or informal union have one of them call for Anschluss, especially since many of the Holobirds don't even have land borders with us.

I'm also going to call into question the efficacy of attempting to annex or invade Duck, a thread that doesn't even have a representative.
In my opinion our lebensraum/Anschluss target should be /Wah/ since joke wars between KFP and Takobell are declared all the time by both Kiara and Ina, the fact that many schizos from the egg arch were either posed as, or were, Takos, and the fact that despite all this KFP and Wah still generally get along pretty well.

I still like the idea of the KFSP since it gives the country conflict and dynamism I think the idea should be shelfed until we can find a way of better implementing it.

There is no lore based reason to install a new fascist Government, since there is neither an in-universe or out-of-universe reason for bad relations with /duck/.
The idea of introducing a little bit of war is interesting however, to spice things up....
This however should be:
a) put on the back burner for an indefinite amount of time, at least until we have solved the naming question

S stands for seiso- SOZIALISTISCHE!
On a serious note the premise revolves around a split between the more tolerant, casual KFP fanbase and the KFSP who are idolfag fanatics - real schizos who think toilet humor is subhuman. /KFSP/ would be the kind to carpet-bomb /vsj+/ without any warning, Pearl Harbor style. That's how seiso they are.
occupying /duck/ was just an excuse to secure trade and border security, especially since they have no strong representative/leadership at that moment. Actually warring with a fellowbird nation is kind of pointless, that's why /KFSP/ pulled out of the region after securing it. As for foreign policy and the idea of invading neighboring countries, it's tedious and since they have their own culture and patron chuuba, the practical course of action is just leave then alone to be autonomous after securing a treaty or alliance.
/KFSP/ and /wah/ are on tense relations since the coup d' etat. The remaining /KFP/ loyalist navy is in safe harbor at /wah/ Island, a hundred miles south off coast from KFP. /wah/ supporting these remaining opposition spells trouble as they're taking an opposing stance against /KFSP/ who want to reclaim those ships, though their remaining navy is severely weakened. /KFP/ loyalists took all of the flagships with them and many of the experienced engineers, officers and staff after the civil war.
This will escalate later on if a coalition forms against /KFSP/.
>>21337478
They evacuated on /KFP/ flagships and took much of the navy with them to /wah/'s southern island. A lot of the old aristocracy is executed but a whole lot more fled the country, leaving the economy paralyzed. The Kaiserin, Kiara I herself is still in the capital, not under house arrest, but under pressure to quell the public demand which calls for imperialistic militarization and nationalist policy.
>>21334457
/who/ Republic is the only force that can match /KFSP/ given that they have a superb navy and ten army legions. Think of Great Britain and Napoleonic France. Intervention would take place in the form of a naval blockade cutting off the southern trade lines of KFP. Another reason why /KFSP/ will want to push northwards, either through /duck/ or /fbk/ in order to reach the coast there and reestablish a trade route and naval port. 2MAD0

Anon, let me explain why this would cause international conflict.
/kfsp/ attacks /duck/. /duck/ is an alliance called /okfams/, with /mogu+doog/, /mion/, /fbk/ and the nakiri nomads. Due to their alliance, they would support /duck/, either by sending reinforcements and supplies to /duck/ (mostly /mogu+doog/ as they're closer) or by attacking you in different fronts to draw your army away (/mion/ and /fbk/).
That's the north. To the east, /holox/ may intervene, specifically the takane lui faction may see this as a chance to prove themselves as a holotori and either try to attack you from the flank to seize land or negotiate privileges.
To the west, /akushio/ may help out /duck/ due to their deities being gen mates, but frankly I don't think they'd care. They'd probably take refugees though. /clg/ would definitely send a large force of their knight orders to reinforce /duck/. There's also /wah/, in which /kfp/ have fled to as you've said, where a resistance force may be organised. They'd probably force you into a ceasefire and enter negotiations, or work out a deal with /kfp/ to help them get back to power in return for land or other repayments.
To the south, you would likely encounter navy sent from /bakatare/, where a colony of /fbk/ exists, that would focus on disrupting your trade routes. Additionally, Sakuran is an ally of /mogu&doog/, /doog/ more specifically, and also is in another alliance with /duck/ and /mion/. If they were to send out requests for backup, and they probably would, Sakuran would move in to help. They'd ask for volunteers from neighbouring Hoshiyomia and /sora/ and set off with a moderately sized fleet. The aim would likely be to blockade your ports and/or take over them temporarily. If it seems like the Allied Northern Front is losing, an alliance with /kfp/ may be made to mount an assault to reclaim the capital and oust the /kfsp/. Reminder that /kf(s)p/ aren't the only ones who can use flamethrowers btw. At the same time, /who/, although quite far, may move to block your ports as well, though whether they'd stop there or attempt to raid your research centers for specialised tech is up in the air.
All in all, I do not recommend you doing this.

As lore it's even been veto'd by some of your people. It does work as a point of discussion, however. I know very limited stuff about mil ops and it probably showed, some proper military autists feel free to provide their own takes

If the Republic fleet reaches /wah/ island and /morig/ ports and establish a base of operations there they can organize a sea-based supply line, linking along the coasts. There may be depots raised along /awat/, /hirys/ and numerous ports that are open to /who/. The Roman Empire traded with Memphis, Egypt back in the day. They didn't sail through a sea, they cruised not too far along coastlines to make sure they can always dock and resupply.
It's very likely that news of /who/ fleet appearing in /wah/ and /morig/ will trigger escalation from /KFSP/. That's like China bringing fleets to Hawaii. Not a friendly sight.

Jokes aside, That sounds about right, and you don't really need military knowledge to know how things play out on the grand strategy level. In terms of the flamethrowers, their range is impressive for what they are, but their use might be limited if /kf(s)p/ (since the same issue would still persist for regular /kfp/ if they ever go to war) can't figure out how to close in on the enemy until they enter its effective range.

I mean, sure, but it's a much larger trip than just going from Rome to Cairo, it's an inmense logistical cost that would take a lot of preparation, we simply would not be the first to react to any /kfsp/ manouvers, they'd get declared on by others first, in particular, all of /OKFAMS/. We'd be limited to raids (and we'd certainly try to steal as much technology and knowledge as possible). Containment would come first from the other nearby powers like /morig/ and /wah/. Our actions are limited basically. In addition to that, we don't really have any strategic interest in the area to justify intervention unless one of our allies decided to do so (like Hoshiyomia)
A much more possible route for conflict is a series of border conflicts with /wah/ instead, kind of like the indian-chinese border conflicts that happen sometimes, they're small and limited in scale, but they keep tensions up in the air and all neighbours on edge.

>> No.21371361

>>21369398
I like those odds. This is beginning to look like a Napoleonic scenario in particular.
Assuming the first battles will occur in the Northwest as the /okfams/ coalition attempts to liberate duck, followed by the threat of /fbk/ and /mion/ mobilizing for war, then the /KFSP/ will move their armies there as fast as possible to confront. A protracted war on multiple fronts is impossible to win, as seen with Germany 1918 and 45. /KFSP/ will want to defeat the /okfam/ first then swing eastwards to overpower /fbk/-/mion/ forces. To do this, given an army that numbers no more than 150,000 and is weakened by a civil war, they'll have to intercept the junction of /mogu/+/doog/ and crush them rapidly before they even have a chance to join /okfam/. This evens out the battlefield for a chance that /KFSP/ can decisively defeat /okfam/ before they march to raise /duck/. This must happen before reinforcements from /clg/ reaches the coalition, otherwise it will be too much for /KFSP/ to resist. It will be a campaign in the likes of the German Sichelschnitt and blitzkrieg, or the Italian campaign.
Unless /wah/ actively coordinates to make war alongside the coalition, the western front is not the biggest danger at that stage. /KFP/ loyalists cannot march to the capital and besiege it, they don't have the numbers. Now if /holox/ joins the war, them marching on the eastern front will be a problem but by that time there should be another /KFSP/ corp raised to defend that side, and buy time for the main army to finish the battles in the North and consolidate.
While /KFSP/ has almost zero naval power now, coalition fleets likely won't capture KFP ports. They'll simply come under fire from coastal defenses, however should they decide to land a fighting force there they're free to do it. They have complete control over the sea now.
This is assuming the civil war created some great, young new blood within the /KFSP/ that will serve as the new officer corps and leadership of the army and government. Yeah, it's a nice point of discussion even if it's just headcanon.

To play devil's advocate, /kfsp/ might have trouble supplying its army to the northwest, since according to the existing map of the pre-war country, the northwest is only connected to the heartland with one major road (either hilly or tunnel, neither are good for moving a lot of resources quickly), and road connections to either /duck/ or /mogu+doog/ are questionable (since the map seems to omit international roads). So, supplying the army enough to quickly defeat /mogu+doog/ (how?) might be difficult, especially given >>21371776's case, /duck/ will be either just take over /duck/ or is also fighting the war against /kfsp/. As such, it's kind of difficult to believe it is strong enough to basically take the brunt of the coalition before taking into account other potential enemies on other sides. If we assume /wah/ is at least sympathetic to /kfp, then they might also be able to threaten the supply line to the northwest quickly (either by the more accessible river valley or going uphill) if they decide to join the war.
Overall, as a thought exercise, I feel it's unlikely that /kfsp/ would be able to go very far in the war before it starts losing ground on all sides.

It's a given that kfp is a mountainous country with poor roads and disconnected villages that make any development difficult. The construction and crossing of bridges over rivers must be taken into account, the supply and communication lines secured, and logistical issues are aplenty. There's no way /KFSP/ corps can bring with it all of its rations, baggage and artillery and at the same time take positions to give battle at a given place. The newly organized army can move rapidly along different paths to skirt or hike through mountainous terrain, but they'll have to drop the bulk of their guns and baggage behind.
I imagine the /OKFAM/ coalition will have similar problems as well, especially if they present a much larger force. The field isn't like Germany, where the allies just march through open countryside straight to Berlin. Both sides will fight over control of the river bridges, valley passes, and attempt to outmaneuver the other.
If however /KFSP/ is forced to a defensive war, it might be easier than WW2 scenarios. There are no American reinforcements (/who/ won't land in time), no trench warfare, no armored units and machine guns, no nukes. The level of warfare we are discussing is so much simpler in 18th century times.

The Sanalite brings the corpse to /nasa/ Station for autopsy. They placed the body in a refrigerator. However due to a power outage the refrigerator stopped working. After half a day the Sanalites checked on the body. The body somehow was still alive. Not only was she alive she was eating the flesh off of one of her arms. The Sanalites subdued her with tranquilizer and administered immediate medical aid to her eaten arm. After talking to a /who/man the Sanalites concluded that the woman is from /meat/ judging by her attire. How she got so far into /nasa/ with her clothes is a mystery.

Yellow LED lights dimmly illuminated the tall spaceman as he walked along the hallway, his eyes glued to the tablet
in his hand. Navigating through the familiar corridors was second nature to him at this point and it allowed him
to once again go through the day's schedule. As he passed a large window overlooking the grand hall, he paused
and took in the view. While the remnants of the previous day's feast were still very much apparent, the hall
stood still, save for the occasional movement from a passed out Sanallite at one of the many tables.

He loved mornings like these. Still and quiet, complete opposite of his usual life.
These were the few moments when he could truly feel at peace.

Breaking out of his thought, he walked in front of a large elevator and pressed his keycard against the panel.
The sound of machinery moving behind those doors put a small smile on his lips. He had not heard it in so long,
he almost forgot how it sounded.
The sound of normalcy.
Finally, after months of suffering things were returning to how they were before. Yet, he feared they would change
once again very soon.

As the doors opened and he walked in, eyes once again on the tablet, he noticed the sound of someone running down
the hallway.

"HOLD! HOLD IT! I SWEAR TO SANA IF YOU DON'T HOLD THE DOOR...!"

The small female almost hit the far wall of the elevator as she basically sprinted through the doors. Leaning on it
and taking a few moments to somewhat catch her breath, she turned to the man and angrily glared at him.

"I swear, if your lanky ass..haa..haa... doesn't stop scheduling these meetings so early in the morning, i will take
a F0R-K and shove it...haa...haa... so far up your ass, the tip will poke out of your mouth! Do you have any idea how
far my departments are from the council room?!"

He smiled. "Good morning to you too, Jane."

"Haa...haa..yea, good fucking morning boss." she said with a small smile appearing on her face.

"Overslept again?" he asked, holding back a chuckle. She was never a morning person, ever since they were kids.

"Not another word out of you, you freak. How in all hells can you be up and about this early when you drank even more
than me yesterday?". As she finally calmed her breath, Jane straightened out and leaned on the wall.

"So? what you got for us on this fine day, o mighty principal of the 74th expeditionary fleet? We finally getting off
of this rock?"

"How are the greenhouses doing? I hope not many were damaged." He asked while ignoring her question.

She stared at him for a moment, her eyes betraying that she wanted to push the question further, but she relented for now.

"Yea, most were undamaged, suprisingly. Once my boys and girls sober up a bit we will start setting them up next to
the others. We should have them all up in a week or two at most. Seed caches were also ok, with only a few breaking
open. I will just delegate a greenhouse for mixed seeds, nothing much to worry about. We should be back to our
regular meals in a few months if everything goes as planned."

"That's great to hear, i bet some were getting bored with the rations as of late, our regular ingredients will bring
up the morale aga-"

Jane scoffed."Says the biggest glutton on this station. I swear, one of these days me and Helen will so some thorough
tests on you, how you stay that thin with everything you eat is just unnatural."

"Heh, sorry, but i will have to pass on that. Knowing Helen, i might not leave that room alive."

"Haha, Yea, true that. She does get really into it once in a while. But really, my question still stands. What is this
meeting about, Alexander? You were being weird yesterday as well"

They stared at each other for a brief moment. She never used his full name unless she was deadly serious. And this was
serious. They finally managed to raise the station out of the crater. What they do from here on might irreparably alter
the course of the civilizations on this planet, something the Grand directive strictly forbid.

A long sigh escaped his lips.

"We stand at a crossroads, Jane. Depending on the information i get in that room, i might be forced to make some
drastic decisions"

She tilted her head. "For example?"

As the doors opened and Alexander stepped out of the elevator, he stopped and looked back at her.

"Perhaps the Grand directive is outdated"

Biological Anthropology of the Deadbeat
The inhabitants of /morig/, the deadbeats, are physically quite an odd specimen when compared to the human and demi-human inhabitants of /vt/. Physicians have dissected deadbeats and found that perhaps unsurprisingly their bones are incredibly dense and strong.
The explanation for this is of interest. The deadbeat bone seems to be very highly mineralized for one; where a standard human bone may be measured to contain 60 to 70% of minerals by weight, deadbeat bone contains up to 80%. Moreover, where mineralization is normally accomplished through the deposition of calcium phosphate, deadbeat bone is found to contain a large fraction of biologically synthesized iron oxyhydroxide, or goethite. The mineral is organized as nanofibers weaved through the porous structure of the bones parallel to the major stress axes, granting remarkable toughness to the material. The folk legend that deadbeats have bones of steel may have begun when a deadbeat bone was found to be weakly magnetic due to this high iron content.
The flesh and muscle are less developed than the average humanoid's. In appearance, the average deadbeat will look like an unhealthily thin person due to this low muscle and fat tissue volume, even if the individual is perfectly healthy. This emaciated appearance is thus not a cause for concern. The composition of these softer tissues is responsible for this; alongside a degree of calcification, they have a reduced water content, as low as 40% compared to 76% as found in common mammalian muscle. This does not however impede the function of the musculoskeletal system. This high dehydration reduces the blood supply to the muscle, but this is mitigated by adaptations in the cardiovascular system; polycythaemia is present, due to high red cell and nutrient content in the blood, and cardiomegaly is consistently observed, the larger heart being able to pump more of the thicker blood where it is required. A corollary of this high viscosity is that superficial cuts will tend to stop bleeding relatively quickly, but this does mean that deadbeats, especially older or unhealthy ones, are prone to blood clots.
The heavier skeleton and reduced soft tissue results in deadbeats being on average the same weight as most humans people, with the exception of the Goddess Faithful priestesses. This will be touched on later in this article. This high overall density results in deadbeats being very poor swimmers, although submersion can still be prevented with vigorous swimming.

>>21379127
The most surprising thing about their physiology is that their nervous system is entirely contained within their bones and many of their internal organs appear connected to their skeletal structure. Many of the internal organs are sheathed in a white calcified protective layer. This combined with the density of their bones leaves them with an incredibly well protected nervous system. Some academics have suggested that the flesh is infact more of a puppet that the skeleton controls. This explains the old deadbeat saying “There is a deadbeat inside all of us”. The scientific community rejects this hypothesis, though that may be due to its controversial nature. This leads to deadbeats being able to survive grievous injury, the level of which would normally kill say a hooman from bloodloss, as well as maintain functionality so long as the bone is not significantly damaged. Heavy injuries to the head are still fatal, as are generally heavy wounds to the upper chest. These characteristics may explain why even when thrown into some of the most suicidal military operations, deadbeat squads may find victory in operations intended to be diversions. They suffer terrible losses and injuries, but are able to keep pressing forward due to their unique physiology.
The actual cause of those adaptations remains a hot topic for study, but correlational studies are informative in this regard. Deadbeat-like adaptations are universally linked to exposure to Mori-attuned chuubanite. In fact, people from other countries will see themselves take on those characteristics (migration of the nervous system into the skeleton, goethite synthesis in osteoblasts, calcification of tissues and cardiovascular adaptations) slowly if exposed to high concentrations for years. A lifetime would result in measurable changes, and the offspring of the immigrant would have complete deadbeat adaptations within two to three generations of /morig/ island residence.
This is most clearly observed in the Goddess Faithful priestesses. Renowned for their beauty and voluptuousness compared to other inhabitants of the island, it is a a common misconception that the religious class does not display deadbeat characteristics. This is incorrect; they display them more strongly than any demographic, likely due to their extreme exposure to high chuubanite concentrations near Mont Mori. Those exposures would destroy the mind of most, but for the strongly-minded individuals able to handle this strain, the result is an exacerbation of all the characteristics described above. The more "normal" volume of soft tissue is actually an accumulation of even higher amounts of densified deadbeat muscle, explaining remarkable power of the priestesses; they effectively have two to three times the muscle mass found in a deadbeat of normal strength. All this added calcified tissue leads to priestesses of average height and seemingly normal build commonly weighing up to three hundred pounds or more.

It's been a day and a half, their eyes affixed on the diplomat as he writes the last paragraph.
A subsection here to define a limit on Imperial zones, and a paragraph on development subsidies.
The diplomat looks up from his desk. His eyes affixed on the Sanalite's helmet.
"Everything seems... normal. You're lucky to have landed in unclaimed territory. The Holo-Capital have been discussing on what to do with that backwater." he paused and looks at the portrait of the God Kaiser of HLG.
The diplomat stands up and heads towards the back of his chamber. Looking for something on his collection of tomes and books.
"Despite coming off-world, the culture and religion of your people are not too far off from ours. Our priests were even shocked to discover your goddess is the missing piece in reconstructing the lost pantheon." the diplomat hands over a foot thick tome to the Sanalite to which he awkwardly accepts and carries.
The spaceman reads the cover, assisted by the translator display on his helmet. A book explaining the history and theology of the Holy Live Governorate.
"You seemed... unphazed. Is our existence and presence not a concern to you?" the Sanalite asked as he skimmed through the pages.
"Oh no. Visitors from the cosmos are not uncommon in our Empire. In fact you're not the first to do so. The Moon people came down here to form an embassy centuries ago which over time grew into a village, then a hamlet, and now it's a self-sustaining kingdom serving the God Kaiser." the diplomat points to a section of the map labelled /moon/.
"And right over here... we have another extraterrestrial civilization. Semi-extraterrestrial by now." the diplomat points to a kingdom labeled /pagi/. A group of humanlike extraterrestrials, much like yourselves, landed here. Over time they mingled with the locals and too became a self-sustaining government. Although their mythical technology was lost to age, their people still look up at the stars romanticizing their ancestor's birthright."
The Sanalite froze. He was shocked. Stunned.
There were others before him who too met the same fate as his people did.
"These people... they didn't return home?" he asked dreadfully.
"The majority didn't. Now I won't say they can't do so. The Moonmen have easy access to Vtubium portals to return to the moon and the worshippers of Iofi still have their ancestors' knowledge." the diplomat flips several pages on the tome, stopping at an unfinished graph.
"It's more of... they have no reason to."
A graph detailing the Holo Pantheon, with the Moon goddess and the Xeno goddess somehow fitting in-between native ones. And a missing section in between that suspiciously meets Great Sana's description.

# Biological Anthropology of the Deadbeat

The inhabitants of /morig/, the deadbeats, are physically quite an odd specimen when compared to the human and semi-human inhabitants of /vt/. Physicians have dissected deadbeats and found that perhaps unsurprisingly their bones are incredibly dense and strong.

The explanation for this is of interest. Deadbeat bone seems to be highly mineralized for one; where a standard human bone may contain 60 to 70% of minerals by weight, deadbeat bone contains up to 80%. Mineralization is normally accomplished through the deposition of calcium phosphate, while deadbeat bone is found to contain a large fraction of biologically synthesized iron oxyhydroxide, or goethite. The mineral is organized as nanofibers weaved through the porous structure of the bones parallel to the major stress axes, granting remarkable toughness to the material. The folk legend that deadbeats have bones of steel may have begun when a deadbeat bone was found to be weakly magnetic because of this high iron content.

The flesh and muscle are less developed than the average humanoid’s. In appearance, the average deadbeat will look like an unhealthily thin person because of this low muscle and fat tissue volume and almost bone-white skin, even if the individual is perfectly healthy. A corollary of this high viscosity is that superficial cuts will stop bleeding relatively quickly, but this means that deadbeats, especially older or unhealthy ones, are prone to blood clots.

The heavier skeleton and reduced soft tissue results in the average deadbeat weighing the same as most human people, except for the Goddess Faithful priestesses. We will touch on this later in this article. This high overall density results in deadbeats being very poor swimmers, although submersion can still be prevented with vigorous swimming.

The most surprising thing about their physiology is that their nervous system is entirely contained within their bones and many of their internal organs appear connected to their skeletal structure. A white calcified protective layer sheathes many of the internal organs. This, combined with the density of their bones leaves them with an incredibly well protected nervous system. Some academics have suggested that the flesh is in fact more of a puppet that the skeleton controls. Thus, the old deadbeat saying: “There is a deadbeat inside all of us”. The scientific community rejects this hypothesis, though that may be due to its controversial nature. This leads to deadbeats being able to survive grievous injury, the level of which would normally kill say a hooman from blood loss, as well as maintain functionality so long as the bone is not significantly damaged. Heavy injuries to the head are still fatal, as are heavy wounds to the upper chest. These characteristics may explain why even when thrown into some of the most suicidal military operations, deadbeat squads may find victory in operations intended to be diversions. They suffer terrible losses and injuries, but can keep pressing forward thanks to their unique physiology.

Renowned for their beauty and voluptuousness compared to other inhabitants of the island, it is a common misconception that the religious class does not display deadbeat characteristics. This is incorrect; they display them more strongly than any demographic, likely because of their extreme exposure to high chuubanite concentrations near Mont Mori. Those exposures would destroy the mind of most, but for the strongly-minded individuals able to handle this strain, the result is an exacerbation of all the characteristics described above. The more “normal” volume of soft tissue is actually an accumulation of even higher amounts of densified deadbeat muscle, explaining remarkable power of the priestesses; they effectively have two to three times the muscle mass found in a deadbeat of normal strength. All this added calcified tissue leads to priestesses of average height and seemingly normal build commonly weighing up to three hundred pounds or more.

Proposed addition to /who/'s general lore: On entertainment and street culture:
In the rural towns and villages in the hilly east, children and youths participate in games where they chase down large owl-like land birds with bats. This practice seems to stem from a folk tale regarding a fanatical follower of the nameless one, barging into a local temple with a bat and claiming the nameless one is among the female worshippers. Historians cannot ascertain whether the story really happened but this game remained one of the most popular children's game in the republic. In cities and villages in the east where there's no such bird, children playing as the 'bird" are dressed in cloaks instead.

Proposed addition to /who/'s Army: Militias: With a population of roughly 12 million, the republic has a large reserve population of around 8 times that of the active army. This puts the ratio of potential military personnel to civilians at approximately 30:100(or 218 per 1000 capita). In order to maintain the reservists' combat readiness, there are various militias affiliated with the army available for any interested citizens. The militias practice training exercises semi-regularly and participate in large scale exercises with their local Legion yearly. Most importantly, aside from being a pool of potential soldiers to replenish casualties, militias play a crucial role in defending the republic. In case of an invasion, militias not in the standing army would destroy major roads and bridges in order to impede the enemy advance. Militias are also expected to put up resistance to harass any occupying force using their familiarity with the local terrain.
Aside from military functions, the militias are an integral part of life in the Republic. The youth partake in training and activities organised by their local outfit, and the militia aid the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure. In more rural areas, the militia even acts as the de facto police.

Since 1 deal with the general lore which I'm not responsible for and 2 discuss the population number which I believe no lore has ever done before I'm pinging our rep.

Alright.
1. Seems fun, I don't see why it shouldn't be added. Maybe I'll make an overall "folk and traditions" document one day.

2. Avoid using numbers at any cost for now since world populations aren't well defined yet so I'm cutting off that part, on that note, since the Republic is very centralized I'd say most or all militias are under control by the military organization. Youth integration in the military would instead happen by schools, where military representatives would come in and give them some propaganda, and they'd be involved in some of the duties. To that, schools in the Republic are all state-owned.

Revised version. How does it look? If it's okay I'll add it to the army rentry.

The republic has a large reserve population of around 8 times that of the active army. Pick out a 100 male citizens on the streets, at least 10 of them would be active personnel or had some training. In order to maintain the reservists' combat readiness, local military districts maintain militia units and recruit any interested reserve personnel.
Aside from military functions, the militias also provide public services. Militiamen aid the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure. Being stationed near communities, militias are often the first to respond to any natural disaster and lead the rescue effort before the army can provide more comprehensive relief. In more rural areas, the militia even acts as the de facto police.
