eeh, prebuilts (especially from the big oem brands) are still riddled with enough proprietary fuckery and too often skimp out on some critical-but-not-flashy components, so that diy building is still much preferable to anyone with the knowledge and means to do so.

The best (only) argument for prebuilts recently has been the pricing issue mostly, with GPU street prices being so out of whack that prebuilts become economical in comparison (if not sometimes even the only way to get a currect GPU)

Nah prebuilds are still quite bad. They aren't quite as bad as they were in the 00's where most of them didn't even have a graphics card but they skimp out on quality and have a high failure rate or use undervolted parts to fit a shitty PSU that will fry your PC or perform worse than they should.
Ame paid like $4000 for a prebuild with a 3090 to brag to chat and then the 3090 died after a week it was fucking funny.
