It is weird, but maybe it makes sense? If you see one girl post it on her channel, you can find the main channel a lot easier and connect to the rest of the girls. I suppose it could be useful for people who aren't fans of all of them and are only fans of one.

The voice filter is a pretty poor choice, like I get she wants to add some texture and rasp to the slow bits but it ends up sounding mostly stiff. It's the kind of song I can see Rim, Yuka, or Melissa excelling at, since they can naturally intone like that without much processing, but it doesn't work for the bee. Nice instrumental though, love the crispiness of the percussion.

With no disrepect to OG primeranon, is it possible for the thread to come up with a second primer to serve as more of a "beginners start here" guide for newcomers, to be included alongside the current primer? Instead of specifically focusing on the singers, perhaps it could mention some of the songs and albums that are commonly and widely appreciated. That way it might be a little more helpful for people who exclusively listen to pockets of Hololive or Nijisanji and are just starting to branch out.

For instance, someone who currently listens exclusively to Hololive might find albums like Mito's palettable, and there are plenty of KAF (and other VWP) songs that the average newcomer would probably enjoy. I don't think it's wrong to say that a lot of people would be open to listening to one of HACHI's piano sessions. Perhaps even a short list of songs, like those gathered by this anon https://archive.wakarimasen.moe/vt/thread/20417226/#20453053 and others like him in the past, would give visitors a good starting point and demonstrate that good music isn't necessarily limited to the big corpos.

Also, maybe recommendations based on genres and chuubas could help. For example, for fans of pop-punk and pop-rock styles, Kotone and MaiR seem like decent intro choices. Meanwhile, fans of rap might check out MZM, Peanuts, etc. By chuuba-based recommendations, something like fans of Mori's slower songs might like Harusaruhi's "Even the sorrow is a friend", fans of Towa's "Palette" could try VESPERBELL Yomi's cover, and so on. Someone with more knowledge could make better recommendations than these, these are just here to try and convey my point.

When I first lurked these threads I was a bit hesitant to post since, based on the contents of the primer, I expected the threads to be a lot more focused on evaluating the skills of the singers with an only-the-best-are-allowed attitude. Instead, I eventually found the threads to revolve more around being a schedule of upcoming songs and lives, miscellaneous VSinger discussion, and being able to find out more about particular singers from their fans. I don't even think I've ever seen a message saying that a particular singer wasn't qualified to be posted here.

You're certainly welcome to write something up and get feedback from the thread. We're hardly pushing the character limit in the OP even when there's a bunch of events. The powerlevel stuff in the primer was in part because of the desire to get stuff down in a somewhat agreed upon manner to put an end to timeloops, and in part because while people might enjoy someone who's not the strongest singer, if we're making a 'start here recommendation', it's probably best to start off with the best and let them explore from there.

What worries me is that both Stella and Madoka got sick.
I think it's the result of a too heavy streaming schedule mixed with the vax secondary effects reducing their resilience and health.

The question is how much of that streaming schedule came from the vtubers themselves and what type of contract they have with the company.
If the company pushed them beyond their limits and caused a mix of burnout and destroyed health then it won't last long because it means they have unrealistic expectations.

If it's a more laid back group with no strong goals then they can keep going and slowly add more vtubers.
Not knowing what the real situation is may make it harder for them to find new talents.

Madoka had a shorter singing stream on her first stream after restarting her activity before retiring.
This would make sense if she forced herself to sing while being sick, but had to limit her singing in order to not worsen her situation.

Madoka's behavior hinted at a situation where she grew up with few or no friends, and didn't get a lot of attention likely from her parents too.

Another possibility would be bad family circumstances and having to move very often to a new place, but that would not explain so well why she didn't get more attention from her family.


Stella, being more energetic, could power through her sickness while singing to hide her issue, in a similar way to what Tama is doing currently.

Seeing as both Madoka and Stella got sick at the same time, it may be a good assumption to think of a similar problem causing them their health issue which they got at the same time.
Unfortunately there is a high likelihood this could have been caused by the vaccination secondary effects.

I don't think Stella is the type of person who would have accepted a bad contract, but she may be forced to stop singing for a few years.
Maybe she thinks her viewers would not watch her other streams as much, and that she can't keep her channel without singing.
It's a lot of work behind the scenes to keep making streams with such a frequent streaming schedule.
Stopping her activity would allow her to recover faster.

It's possible that Megalight is a subcontracting company which makes the vtubers pay for their services, and has some form of minimum amount of streams or costs required to keep it alive.

In that case getting a sickness with a very long or unknown recovery time would be a good reason to stop their activity and the recurring costs of running the channel.
