So I watched HoloX's reaction to Marine, they were extremely surprised not to hear Ahoy or Unison at first. They thought because earlier in the show during the talk segment with Fubuki after Happiness World Marine said that her solo song wouldn't be "that", so it seems like their expectations swapped from Ahoy to Unison. So then they were bewildered when the song started, they had no idea what was going on.

Chloe said it seemed like it was one she didn't know, then everyone slowly realised that this was a new song unveiling. Pretty interesting to see them gradually work out what they were watching. They wondered as to who the composer was, and noticed the ??? in the credits at the end as well, and mentioned they had a guess as to who it was but that clearly there were plans in the future to annnounce/unveil it again.

They really enjoyed it in the end too, in particular they seemed to think it was very cinematic, like they had just watched 3 hours of "Houshou Marine: the Movie" and this was the finale or something. The piratey evocation of the song really seemed to hit hard.

We have talked about this ad nauseam but despite what the fandeads say, Cover seems to be very lax with their contracts, the fact that Coco made them burn the bridge to the Chinese market and on top of that completely dissolve an international branch and yet they didn't terminate her contract and that they begged her to stay when she said she wanted to graduate and even then she got a big sendoff and all her non-paying content remains intact suggests that Rushia even being their most superchatted talent had to royally fuck up for Cover not to give her a second chance.
Not that I wish it but I hope that Senchou in some case where an incident is about to happen (or has already happened) can handle it in a better way and not fuck it up in the same way Rushia did, although with Marine's years of experience in this medium I am confident that she knows better.

After the holocalypse Marine spent months trying to get as many videos as possible back up that she could. To this day almost every video that she could get back up with permission from management is back up. Other holos basically just pretended the past never happened and wiped years of stream vods from their channels forever.

It's a pretty huge difference to the way Marine went to the effort of going through her vods one by one and making sure with each individually that it was okay to unprivate.

Indeed Marine has the soul of an artist and most of her projects she sees them as a goal to accomplish no matter how much they cost and how long they take to create, I'm pretty sure even to this day Unison hasn't recouped its production cost but I don't think Marine would mind that much since her desire was to make a fully animated MV, The same thing happened with her swimsuit, she wanted to be part of Hololive summer and had to fight with the management to make it possible and I don't doubt that with this new song and its respective MV we are in the precense of something big that Marine wanted to exist.
