People don't want realistic GFE to begin with. A lot of people seem to include not interacting with males as part of the requirements. As if an actual girlfriend wouldn't ever interact with males and it would be normal for you to throw a fit everytime time she talked to one. When in reality people would think that was a terrible abusive relationship and that you were insanely jealous to the point of perhaps having mental issues of some kind if you were actually like that to a girlfriend.

Not that anon, and I will asume you mean well, but this advice never works.
The reason it doesn´t work is because you are asuming the people you are telling you this as just normal people who are fully capable of getting a girlfriend, and that the only thing stopping them is their obssesion with escapist media.
The problem here is that you are getting cause and effect mixed up, lonelyness and failure came first and escapist media is their way to cope, telling them to "just go outside bro" is not gonna help them because they have been outside before and the results weren´t pretty, so escapism is their only way to feel a little happyness.
