I actually agree with this. The Hololive brand is pretty much pushed by the legacies of the talent and the good will of their audience. It's pretty damn amazing that they managed to survive the Taiwan Yab, Coco's graduation and Rushia's termination. But I think that's more because Sora and Fubuki pretty much serves as the canaries in the coal mine for the fans. I can't count how many times people have said that as long as FBK is there that they'll continue to trust Cover. So for your company's main currency (fan's goodwill) to rely mainly on one person is pretty fucking volatile. Nijisanji on the other hand is driven by the brand itself. Even if Kuzuha or Mito graduated tomorrow, even if it'll hurt, it won't be enough to kill them since their fans are too segmented.

A celebration stream is still a celebration stream, and for Mysta who is either #1 or #2 in popularity in NijiEN (plus not being affected by culls) I do expect at least 20k. If it only goes up to 12k though and underperforms in SC than that might be the signal to start reigning in celebration streams and reserving them for 100k intervals.

I find it curious how literally every single Niji liver that got popular in 2019-20 similar to Hololive are now back to their old numbers, or reclining, or graduated.
Two of the major Niji graduations from last year were also livers that holofans knew of.
This + NijiID HoloID collabs while blocking HoloEN + the fact that a lot of NijiJP - HoloJP collabs no longer occur (except the ones between literal BFFs), kinda makes me think whether there was a company wide policy in Niji to avoid the holos (to not get them numbers while they were inclining?).

I disagree with that. In fact to me seems to be the contrary. Hololive fans are in there for the brand while with Nijisanji people are in there for the vtuber. Hololive has an entire ecosystem of supporting everyone in the brand while in Nijisanji the mindset is to pick whoever you want and watch them in any of the branches. There's people who only watch 1, 5 or 10, while in hololive you are expected to sub to everyone even without watching all of them.
In terms of how it works, it seems to be like this to me as each member in nijisanji. Lulu and Hana might be one of the biggest examples for the west years ago where people basically only watched them and not their collab partners.

It'd be grim, I ain't gonna lie. Removing Kuzuha pretty much means that only rarity buffed Touya can compete with the top holos and would nail Nijisanji in 2nd place until they find another star. But that's the thing though. They just need to find another star. Hololive cannot do that with someone like FBK or Sora. Foobs has pretty much proven the trust of all holomem, and the Rushia whitewash proves that if enough holos think that you fucked up, then you will be wiped and the fanbase will take their cue and move on as well.

1. Fubuki's statement incentivices Cover to not fuck up badly enough for her to want out (and probably take a bunch of her friends with her).
2. Trust being mutual between holomen, and Fubuki being generally sane, ensures that Fubuki herself will not do anything stupid to shake the ship.
3. If Fubuki DOES fuck up enough to get fired somewhere down the line (VERY unlikely), the other holos will also lose trust in her, and ahe will be wiped from the collective like Rushia was, and Hololive will move on.

As long as Cover is generally a positive influence for the holomem, this setup ensures the status quo, while giving a nuclear option for the talents if they need an out, while also ensuring that the person with this option is not the be-all end-all of Hololive.
It's a perfect example of separation of powers.
