I bet you can learn more than you think. Truth is most VTubers don't have much education and speak real simply so you don't need to know a whole lot to understand them. Surely you read manga? All you need is to have material you're interested in learning from.

Only if you start talking like an anime character because of it. You can pick up tons of vocab and learn a lot, but you need to make a concentrated effort to do so.

How do you know there isn't something else out there that is 100x more interesting to you than your current source of entertainment? You will never know, and if it exists you're missing out on it right now. In conclusion be satisfied with what you have right now before it disappears

common misconception. if you try to learn from typical shounen stuff, yea, that's pretty dumb. if you've every cringed at watching an english dub, you'll understand why

but slice of life anime is typically fine since they talk how regular people would talk and use common vocab. not always, but that's just how media is. like if you'd watch a regular english sitcom and sometimes think, "this is not a conversation normal people would be having"

There are other things that we miss out on as well, OP. It's a real shame. But I will never learn Japanese. I will never have the time. And even if I did, or even if someone could say I already do, I want my free time to be actual free time. Learning a language is work. It's not worth it. But I am still sad about it.
