Rhythm games are so boring because once you already played the beatmap once, you've essentially already know exactly what to do and have no need for a strategy or to think about any changes in the song because it's the exact same mapping every time

If beatmaps were dynamic and changed every single playthrough while still remaining on beat, that would be good.

Most Bemani games have modifiers that randomize the key columns, you retard. There's even a variant in IIDX (which that clip is of) that includes the scratch column (the vinyl turntable on the controller). Your perspective is skewed because most contemporary rhythm games (garbage like osu, muse dash, and clone hero) are too shitty to even include basic functionality like this. At 29 seconds the clip even POINTS OUT that he's using random AND ex-hard, which punishes you heavily for missed notes and fails the song at 0%.

I'm gonna ignore the fact that you use "beatmap" when talking about notecharts and say that while it's true there are so many different combination of notes, the Random setting makes it so you don't know which one you'll get, and there are too many combinations to memorize each one.

All the expert IIDX players use Random because most of the time it makes charts easier to deal with than the default layout.
